Maybe he just needed the right coach to bring the best out of him and yes there were signs that was happening, let's not forget that he is still young and while I get it that nobody was clamouring for his signature does not endorse that he still is a talented player.
Just listen to the phone in on a Monday night to reinforce for me that we have some of the most negative fans in the land, any wonder we wonder why atmosphere is a problem when we have these muppets in the stands.
Hes 22, made 80 first team appearances and scored 4 goals
If he were fully fit, made available for transfer in January I cant imagine any Championship club would be interested, Burton may take a punt if he was a free transfer
Are you Barry by any chance, bush?
Nope
Don't see how not rating a player is being negative. Am I supposed to lie and clap along like a mindless idiot?
I just don't rate him, simple as that, however I keep my opinions to myself at matches unless asked and do not boo or groan at players despite my personal opinions
Bennett’s stats are a bit misleading as the great majority of those appearances has been as a substitute. This is the first season he has had a run of games. I can’t understand why fans are so willing to completely write off young players. League 2 at best? He’s been a regular starter in a top 6 Championship team already this season and under Lampard and Morris surely he will improve rather than get worse.
So you make your mind up on a player and it sticks.
Had you any negative thoughts regarding, let's say Marriott and if so did you share them?
No course not, I'd like nothing more to have anything I've said crammed back down back my throat
I'm just very sure this wont happen though, not enough end product for me and definitely not enough goals, skill, composure
Some fans are just very easily pleased by players running around a lot and trying really really hard
Well being out injured now won't change it much now so let's leave it at that.
Not necessarily easily pleased, just willing to see positives and to give the benefit of doubt. The fact that Lampard has picked him for the first team must surely mean that there is at least SOME chance he might have a future, rather than no chance at all.
Vidal
He is playing in a top six Championship team at the moment in the hope he improves, I dont think he will which I way I mentioned lower leagues if he proves to have already plateaued in a few seasons time
All my opinion of course and I hope he goes on to play for England
Being a retired engineering manager I often use the analogy of technical knowledge, intellectual property or machine tools. Like footballers, they are assets and it is incumbent on good managers that these assets have to taken care of and used judiciously to make profits for the company. So I think we should never abuse or write off our player assets until it is absolutely clear that deploying them for the club is detrimental to club and/or player. Bennett, though not the sharpest, is a good asset. We need to make the most of him.
I guess at the end of the day if none of our players came in for any criticism (on here or in general), we'd could assume to be sat atop the Premiership?
Nope, we have some serious snowflake "fans"
Here and at the match.

If only that were true! Imagine a shortlist of players who have never been criticised. It would be very short indeed........

Or someone who has an opinion on a player that differs to yours. Do you really think you are some sort of all knowing expert on footballers abilities?
It does make me laugh when the reaction to player criticism is like someone had called their wife or sister "an ugly cow".
All depends on whether the assessment is reasonable on the available evidence, Scouse, in both situations.
Some folk just take it to seriously Vidal. It's not like Championship footballers are on the bones of thier ar$e.

Yes, (and in the adjoining room at the Premier Inn).
I do behave when I'm at a game though.
