Typical nonsense, when did the Brits learn to be happy with being mediocre
I think people forget how young foden and sancho are. How many 18 yr olds are getting more mins than foden at other big clubs? Can't be to many.
Sancho wouldn't sign a new deal. It was either leave for free. Or take the 10m and it has a first option to buy and a % of the sell on fee.

Couldn't disagree more.
18 years old is old enough to get more gametime than Foden is getting, in my view.
And it's not really worth comparing it with other clubs because almost every club is just as bad!
Liverpool showing some positive signs and United generally okay but poor under Mourinho. Chelsea are diabolical, and City are almost as bad.

City have been very bad in recent years in getting acadamey players in.
My point about sancho and foden was mainly down to the op. Wanting city to be criticised for the way they are being handled. So thats why I brought up other clubs use of players his age.
Sancho will be a big blow to city, but I dont think throwing him in the team at 17 to try and get him to sign a deal is the right way to go.
Blue_mooning (U12093)
No, I agree - but one might argue that he wasn't given enough reason to stay.
And Foden's lack of participation would so far prove him right.
Fine line between a player making the right decision vs a player being too big for his boots, but currently there's no evidence that youth development will play a big part in City's first team as the years roll by.
City escape a lot of criticism for their youth policy, especially in comparison to the other big clubs.
Chelsea’s academy being the best in the country adds more fuel to the criticism their way, and with so many players being sent out on loan without ever, or looking like, getting a chance doesn’t help either.
Sancho is looking like being City’s Pogba - though we gave him more of a chance than City did - especially if they sign him back.

Ye, sancho had every right to not trust city. Foden hasnt had alot of games not helped by a couple of injuries.
I do think he will be one that will become a regular. I think its being used as a extra revenue source. They have made around 60m in transfer fees in the past 5 years. So I think only the special talents will get through.

Will need go go on loan of break into the Wolves team before he does. Not really seen him what’s he like?

Think he will become quite versatile but more a forward thinking midfielder than a deep lying one, very good on the ball and good range of passing. Personally would like to see him in the center of a three in a 4-2-3-1

saw highlights of Wolves game the other week. Looks like he's got a keen eye for a killer pass.
That’s probably going to be the hardest position to break into the England squad for in the coming years. Especially with the likes of Alli, Maddison, Barkley, Loftus-Cheek, Mount, Foden and hopefully Gomes all vying for a place in the coming years.
Good for us to have competition for places I suppose. I just hope we don’t end up being overstocked in a few positions and lacking in others, which has so often been the case for us.
City (Pozo, Sancho, Marcos Lopes, Rekik, Maffeo, Angelino, Manu Garcia) have let a number of young talents go without the repercussions Chelsea get in media/from fans. They have also copied our model of a ‘loan army’ but it’s only Chelsea that are well known for it. Liverpool letting Suso go is also under appreciated.

Off the top of my head I can think of..
Angus gunn 10m
rony lopes 9m
Sancho 10m
Nmecha and foffana around 4m each.
Maffeo 9m, really didn't want him sold looked good on loan in girona.
Denayar 5m
Angelino I think was 3m
Saw it online a few months ago, cant remember what site tho.
Pretty good going.
BK, yeah that’s true. I think due to belief among many, and has been the case years before Pep assembled this squad, that City’s squad is by far the best and these players just weren’t good enough to get chances.
Whereas it’s been different with Chelsea’s squad, even if the truth is similar that a lot of the players you’ve had/have just aren’t good enough either.

City had no choice did they? He was at the end of his contract and refused their offer. He was only just 18 too
De Bruyne was 23 when he left Chelsea, and had already had a productive Bundesliga season on loan
