Merry Christmas 👍

Villa have a shoddy defence and Grealish is out, according to Villa forum Grealish is their main hope of attacking creativity.

Really looking forward to this, it’s almosg a sort of free shot at one of the contenders.

Win = Top at Christmas and another team we are > 10 points ahead of.

Draw = They’re in good form, good result.

Lose = still top 2 at Christmas.

Due to how the season has panned out all the pressure is on Villa in this game, lose and I feel they are really struggling to realistically loom at autos and then that’s another team out of the reckoning 👍

Damn, yet another Norwich late winner, quite sure the wheels will come off for them, but it really is irritating.

You’d think it would, however it’s a ridiculously good habit, fair play to them.

Pattern of latevgoals is usually attributable to better fitness and with that comes better focus and concentration too!

West Brom starting to click now having just overtaken our goal difference and Stoke also creeping up the table, no time to be dropping points, got to be looking for 3 points at Villa.

Of course we should be looking for 3 points at Villa, but it's not a disaster if we don't find them all, provided we put in a good performance. It's the 6 possible points from our next 2 " should be a formality " home matches that are going to be crucial,

Agree that West Brom are getting a bit too close for comfort ..

our next 2 home games see home fixtures for Norwich and WBA, those 6 points at home are essential or we start to find ourselves in 3rd and chasing.

Merry Christmas Lads ana Lasses - here's hoping for an early pressie in the shape of 3 golden points !

Grealish is the best player in the Championship and of course a big loss. Frustrating to lose him in this game in particular against a high-flying Leeds side. But we still have Abraham, Kodjia, Bolasie, El Ghazi, Hourihane and McGinn to throw at you. Plus Adomah is back and will at least make the bench. That is more than enough quality to score goals, unfortunately our defending has let us down this season.

Hoping for a good game but we desperately need the points considering the results yesterday. We were poor against Stoke so need a big response. We're usually very strong at home, but we need to play close to our best to win this.

We have four clean sheets in our last five, or something. Your collection of attacking players dont really frighten me.

Don't see us not conceding, but if we attack Villa then we should also score. We've been controlling possession well recently too.

Think we will win 2-1.

Should be a good game.

Not sure about Ayling being thrown in the deep end having not played any friendly games and been out for a few months..... that could be our weak point against a good villa attack.

I’d take a draw today if you gave me 2 wins for our next 2 games...

Being the old Grinch I am, I have some concerns.

We may have won the last 5 on the bounce and propelled ourselves to top spot in doing so, but none of those were particularly convincing wins.

Feels a bit like a false dawn, as we have seen many many years. Hopefully Bielsa will get to strengthen in January and we stave off the usual Leeds winter freefall

Hearing rumours Bamford is injured again in training for the rest of the season?! Can anyone confirm this

posted on 23/12/18

Heard that but not confirmed, heard it was 2-3 weeks, Ayling in for Shack, Harrison in for Baker, Pablo at ten, shack got a groin problem so him and Ayling may split holiday games,

Where are you hearing this?

A few Leeds fans in the pub now. Down in the Aston tavern at the moment and also a lot of fans on Twitter are saying it but you know how reliable Twitter and fans hearsay is. Hoping not though think we need him for the run in and festive period

Kinda agree with this. Nothing wrong with a realistic perception. Too add to that, the teams we've beaten, minus Sheffield Utd were all struggling teams in bad form, Sheffield United was gifted to us and should have been a draw. Given they have a much better squad, fewer injuries, playing better, scoring more goals and are at home, we'd do well to get anything from this. Stoke and forest did score 7 between here recently so they're certainly a side we can get at, but to score a goal we need 18 attempts so we need to be clinical.

2-2

3-0 For me.

As good a defence we have we struggle against runners and smith knows it. Brentford were arguably the best side we have faced this season largely down to the tactics employed. Smith has better tools and I fear a game similar to West Brom where we just can’t hsnfke the pace.

Couldn't make it up. At the moment through the week you are waiting for news of next injury/injuries to emerge to key players. One comes back another 2 drop.

We can go there and beat this lot, they will fly at us no dowubt, however they concede goals. They will score and they will be favourites given the man for man, however we shouldnt be going there expecting a drubbing.

Good point Rob. Brentford were tactically spot on against us and we had no answer for it,although we've got Forshaw this time. Bielsa really needs to shrug off this ego of his and sign a few players in Jan, Holgate would be a start, according to the sun he's ours.
