Had to imagine Spurs being in a title fight when you'e already lost four games before the halfway stage.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The league is a points based business, Spurs may have lost four, but have drawn none, so as long as they rack up the points, it doesn`t matter a lot.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
True. I guess it depends who the draws and defeats are against. You've lost to Liverpool who are top, if you'd draw that game, win tomorrow and you're 3 points behind. Now you need to win just to be six points behind. Whereas Liverpool's draws have been against City, Chelsea and Arsenal, if my memory serves.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not really, any team is liable to have a slip up. Would you have fancied City to lose at home to Palace. Not saying it could happen, but Newcastle could rock up at Anfield next week, and come away with the three points, as could Arsenal the following game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course but if a team has won fifteen and draw three against City, Arsenal and Chelsea, it's difficult to see too many slip ups. You need to rely on several slips up and very few yourselves. Surely Spurs are more likely to slip up considering you've lost four already?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Two or three weeks ago, City were being tipped to go unbeaten, now they have lost two of their last three games. Just because Liverpool have not lost, means nothing they could easily go the way of City and lose two or three very quickly.

Second half of the season could be very, very different from the first half. Spurs don`t need to rely on several slip ups at all, they only need one or two, then it will be back in their own hands.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Surely that’s the point?

Spurs are reliant on other teams slipping up even now, Liverpool just need to keep doing what they’re doing. You had us dropping 5 points from our last 2 games and we’re the ones getting max points and looking very impressive doing it.

Is there any reason why you expect us to suddenly drop out the running? Cause you've been predicting it every month since August
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I have always maintained that come March the title would be between Spurs and City. Don`t think I have ever mentioned Liverpool would drop out of the hunt in any month since August. Always maintained when the going gets tough after the New Year, that is when Liverpool will fall away. Decent side, but just not got enough in the tank to keep it going in my opinion for nine months.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sure you predicted us to lose to United and drop points against Wolves, as well as host of other clubs this season.

Sandy, Spurs don't have the best away record in the league.

You need to check your facts.

So losing games is better than drawing now?

I don't think any team has won the league having lost more than six games.

Spurs will have reached that milestone in a few weeks.

I await the outcome of our visit to Everton tomorrow before comment on City or Chelsea results today.!
He who laughs last, and all that.....

"Serge Aurier, Mousa Dembele, Eric Dier, Jan Vertonghen and Victor Wanyama remain sidelined, but the fit-again Davinson Sanchez could make his first appearance since 6 November. "

It will be a close run thing, I fear

The pundits are giving the Spurs players the best team talk they could ever have, by continually going on about it being only a two horse race, and completely dismissing Spurs.

On one hand Everton are completely sh!te and you should beat them.

On the other they haven’t won in yonks and could surprise you.

Yes, I agree Sandy, Pool are due a massive downturn in luck. Up to now they have had fluke goals, lucky deflections and a lucky missed penalty going for them, as well as the majority of referees giving them the benefit in key moments. It all adds up the league table as we see it now, obviously the refs are not going to all of a sudden stop giving Pool the benefit, but surely some of the other luck they get which is not influenced by refs will turn.

Spurs have had none of the luck they have enjoyed yet and have not had a home penalty in something like 3 years, hopefully things swing a bit in our favour.

Even spurs fans are bored by you now Billy.

I`m bored with Liverpool being treated favourably by refs.
