You can’t blame sandy for feeling optimistic after Man City dropping points to Palace yesterday.

It would definitely be more rewarding for Poch to achieve success at Spurs I imagine, than the quick fix big spending he might be given at Madrid and United to achieve the same thing. The fact that we are so close must at least make the decision to jump ship a very tough one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I do think he’d love to do it at spurs, but Levy will play a big part in how much he invests. No ones expecting you to compete with 100m signings, but there needs to be some form of investment

There is a billion pound stadium.

Anyone see olly as the long term Utd manager...?

Can't imagine yesterday was much to make a decision on as Cardiff basically started Christmas early...but give it till end of Jan it might look very viable

Especially if Chelsea and Arsenal continue being bang average

The danger with the monies borrowed to built the stadium, is that the club will pay a hefty interest and payback the loan in accordance to the agreement. This likely will have an effect on your transfer budget even more in future.

That doesn’t help you instantly win leagues and champions leagues, just ask Arsenal fans

I think Spurs are more ready now to attract top managers when Poch leaves than before. They have a quality team which is better than Man United and a new stadium which can generate more money.

Jardim, Favre, Nagelsmann or Hasenhuttl will be a good fit for this team as this managers play a high energy style of game.

Spurs have spent next to fack all (net) on players for around the last 10 years, where do you think all that money has gone. Whilst we will still have debt to service, it won`t be half as bad as rival fans and the media love to make out. Add to that, our revenues are about to go through the roof, stadium naming rights, shirt sleeve sponsor etc etc are yet to be confirmed.

We`ll be just fine and still have money to spend, Levy is a financial genius and will not have made the same mistakes Arsenal made, despite what all the bitters will have you believe.

If Levy was a financial genius he wouldn't have had to have just borrowed yet another £400m.

Lewis doesn't do enough for Spurs imo.

posted on 23/12/18

They already have one. To replace Poch with any of of those managers you suggested will always be a risk.

I don’t think Spurs can win the league anytime soon unless Levy is prepared to spend 9 digits on players (highly likely).

*(highly unlikely)

We I don't agree with that. You think Spurs need to sign £100m players? I don't.

Two fullbacks and a quality cm would do it.

Nope, they secured loans up to £400m should they need it, doesnt mean they will need to use it, despite what you see in the media.

I don’t think the OP understands what tapping up means.

Interesting to hear your opinion on this matter Winston
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Which part specifically?

I stopped reading when I read that ex United players with no connection to the club are tapping up your manager.

Laughable comment.

The club said the borrowing was “up to £637m”, representing an increase of £237m or 59% on the initial £400m.

Financial genius you say?

Even a genius can`t make pound notes disappear, the cost is what it is, what do you expect, for him to build it for fack all.... understandable coming from a Mouser, as a lot of things on Merseyside are obtained for `free`

It has to be paid for, Levy is and will manage it superbly well, we couldnt have anybody better to over see it. You keep clinging to the notion that Spurs are all of sudden going to fall apart, and we`ll get on with our business

posted on 23/12/18

I've not said or even thought Spurs are going to fall apart, you've literally made that up.

However, if you think finishing late and massively over budget is financial genius managed superbly that's fine.

No major building project is ever on time. The Emirates took 2.5 years to build, ours less despite being a hell of a lot more complex (sliding pitch etc). The cheese room alone cost us 6 months
