Decent going forward, terrible at the back.
Massively lucky to go unbeaten for as long as they did and at risk of a real good hiding at Liverpool.

Anyone with any awareness of underlying stats (xG) knows that Arsenal overperformed big time for a long period of this season. They were getting results which meant their average performances were overlooked, but inevitably this doesn't last forever
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We certainly didn’t put an average performance when we smashed you 4-2 despite a poor referee performance
We have had the same luck as you or Liverpool in the early part of the season. And our average performance still involved is scoring way more goals than your brilliant team.

Your opinion is based on your emotional investment in Arsenal. I'm looking purely at the underlying stats which are completely objective. You can look them up yourself

Always does!
He was going on 6 weeks about Fabinho being a terrible player, looks one of the best buys of the summer now!
Laughable.
Since when does over performing have to be followed by under performing.
Does City’s two defeats mean they will win two now?
The top four could finish : Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool or it could be : Liverpool, Spurs, Man City, Chelsea
It’s wide open and no one knows sh*t.
It's not overperformance followed by underperformance
It's overperformance followed by a regression to the mean simply because such overperformance is unsustainable. You can't keep converting chances at an abnormally high rate/the opponent keep missing chances at an abnormally high rate
I think you can. I don’t know the comparison but apparently we went over with it all last season, according to Edin. I trust his knowledge of those stats. But I don’t really trust the methodology of them. Which is another debate.

Arsenal have spent an awful lot of money to show not a lot improvement. They are in a fight for a top six position probably with United.
---
What are you talking about? Man city spent more on one player than we spent on five players in the summer. We previously sold a lot of players to cover what we spent on Auba. Emery needs at least two more windows before judgement can be passed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arsenal over the past two or three transfer windows have spent over £200 million.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arsenal over the past 2 seasons have spent quite a lot BUT all players bought have been from players sold.
Walcott, Oxlade, Giroud, Gabriel, Coquelin ect have generated all the money. Our owners is a shambles at the moment who does not put his hand in his own pocket.
Yes Spurs didn't buy anyone during the summer but you'd squad was already very good if I'm honest you probably didn't need to sign anyone. Last at least you didn't loose anyone during the summer.
Arsenal had 2 problems Wenger and then Kronke. Now Wenger's gone all the light will be shining on this disgusting owner taking money out of our club.
Another point about Wenger and the board.
If Wenger actually outed the board and openly slated him we could have actually had a big chance of getting rid of him. Even last season Wenger still had massive pull over almost half the Arsenal fans and they would have stuck by him as if he was sacked there would have been a riot.
BO$$
You are incorrect on our spending. We are third in net spending since 2014. Only the Manc clubs have spent more. Not Liverpool. Not Spurs or Chelsea.
The players we have bought under Wenger have been very poor. And Wenger made huge mistakes in the one or two players that could generate income like turning down £60m for Alexis.
J99 we went on a mad one about 3-4 seasons ago when we got Ozil, Xhaka, Mustafi and Sanchez but past 2 seasons its been sell to buy.
Last 2 seasons we have sold a huge amount of players and the players we have signed are very good Laca, Auba, Torriera, Sokratis and Leno but we still have a huge hole of dross players and past it players.
Iwobi, Welbeck, Mustafi, Kos, Monreal, Lichsteiner, Czech, Ospina, Jenkinson, Elneny.
Out of the current crop I'd say the following we only good enough - Leno, Bellerin, Xhaka, Torriera, Sokratis, Lacazetter, Aubamayang. (Gwen and Holding)
Statistically they are playing much worse than last season but are a lot more efficient at both ends.

No m8. Its not sell to buy because of the reasons you think.
When the premier league signed the new TV deal they decided to implement a special kind of ffp. That ffp put a cap on wage increases. For most clubs that wasn't an issue because they paid their stars very well but they didn't pay their youth players, and even starters who weren't mega too much money. Wenger however operated a socialist wage structure. That meant we were giving obscene money to the likes of Monreal etc. and (before Ozil's contract extension) the mega players less money on smaller length contracts. Which is why it was so easy to pry them away because they were constantly running their contracts down. Wenger then in desperation gave Ozil a bumper pay rise and of course because Ramsey is used to the 'socialist' structure demanded similar wages. All this will take a few seasons to work through as the players Wenger bought leave.
Our wages are too high because we rewarded mediocrity. Which is why we need to get rid of players off the wage bill before we buy.
