What about Solskjaer's invincibles?
I'd stick Pogba, Martial and De Gea in there too
Robertson has a claim against Cole. He's been playing for less time though so hard to call it yet.
Also the game has changed to the point I don't think you could get away with pires bergkamp and ljunberg in midfield anymore. That's a ridiculously attacking team with Salah in there too.
Lehman was hardly great either so it's probably a toss up between him and Alison. Again having less proven pedigree will make it hard for current players vs retired players.
Bit early fella for me....try it after say, errr....38 league games
Come through the next 2 games and I can't see anything else that can stop you TBF
To not have Gilberto in is a crime.
If you are doing it on Invincible/half invincible PL seasons then Bergkamp drops out, as does Ljungberg.
There is no way TAA gets in ahead of Lauren.
----------Alisson--------
Lauren--Sol---Dijk---Cole
--------Gilberto--Vieira----
Mane------Salah------Pires
-----------Henry-------------
would be the XI based on the two comparative PL campaigns.
To blend the workhorses of the Liverpool team with its pressing and huffing and puffing with the Rolls Royce of football teams is criminal.
Robertson has a claim against Cole
-------------
Not in a million years, I rate Robertson, he's had a decent start to his Liverpool career but Cole is one of the most consistently good players of the PL era, and the best in his position
Good topic but who really cares about being invincible? City couldn't pull it off last season, at the peak of their powers.
For instance, Robertson this season can be said to be as good as Cole, but what about other seasons going forward?
It will take a few years of him performing at this level for him to be mentioned in the same company as Cole.
If Liverpool pull off an unbeaten season then it will, imo, trump our invincibles year. Long way to go yet though and it would be amazing for us to put any hopes to bed this weekend
Impossible to make comparisons on starting XI's when the styles are so different. We were heavily reliant on our midfield feeding attack, with Vieira driving us forward. Liverpool are reliant on their defence feeding their attack, almost bypassing the midfield at times (when in possession, obviously out of possession their MF press is crucial).
Good topic but who really cares about being invincible?

Football is judged on records.
If Bergkamp had put his penalty away in 1999 and if Bayern Munich had not started celebrating too soon the Man Utd team of that time would never have been remembered.
Leicester would have been Leicester who? if they had come second.
The strong Liverpool team of Suárez in 2014 no one remembers because they broke no records.
Arsenal’s Invincibles are forever in bold type in the history of football.
Ars after 19 games had 46 points vs our 51 goal dif of 23 vs our 36 and conceded 13 vs our 7 and scored 38 vs our 43 and on top of that was 2nd behind united.
Why is it that it’s opposition fans going on about Liverpool going unbeaten?
There’s still a long way to go and the chances of it happening are slim.

Won 26 and drew 12.
The city side that won the title last season was a better side in my opinion.
I don't think we will be unbeaten.
The Arsenal team was a good counter attacking and possesion based team.
We are most of the time better without the ball with pressing and winning the ball high up the field to create chances.
Can't really shoehorn in Salah at the expense of having a midfield. I know Arsenal were a 4-4-2 but Bergkamp took on a lot of CAM duties and Ljungberg and Pires weren't in central midfield. Vieira never played on his own there.
There have only been one Invincibles, the Preston team of the 1880s. All others are imposters.
Arsenal forever remembered for their Invincibles
Man Utd likewise with their Treble.
Liverpool for their 70’s domination.
Spurs for Chas and Dave.
Everyone keeps thinking Man City will go unbeaten, then they randomly lose 2 games. Liverpool will most likely do the same and lose to a team no one was expecting. There’s still a long way to go, if I was a Liverpool fan, I wouldn’t talk it up until right near the end. It’s a tough ask to go unbeaten not only have you got to have a great team, but also avoid any random occurrences, like player getting sent off, ref giving dodgy penalty etc. Fair play if they achieve it, but can’t really talk it up until much nearer the end of the season

Good points.
Being honest I couldn’t give a fook about staying unbeaten. All I want is to win the league which is going to be very difficult
Good thing that no Liverpool fan has "talked it up" then.
