This is the things that bothers me really. I’m no fan of Stan whatsoever but the fault doesn’t lie with him over a lack of investment.

He trusted Wenger. Wenger ran absolutely everything with no accountability and Stan continued to fund him without realising the damage Wenger was causing to this club. Wenger and Ivan together undid all the hard work of guiding us through the early Emirates Years and have put us straight back into the financial constraints that once held the club back. But the difference this time is that nearly every other club in the country has more money to spend than they ever have which is why it’s going to be incredibly difficult for us to compete again in the near future.

welbeck, chambers, Cech, Gabriel, Xhaka, Mustafi, Perez, off the top of my head. That's about £130M right there, all not good enough.

We've also spent big on sanchez, Auba, and Lacazette, another £130M, probably more.

Kroenke is a problem that I imagine we'll get to down the road, but as of right now, he hasn't done much wrong.

Interesting discussion on Ramsey, but he is probably gone! How about instead of investing in overseas players of marginal/average talent who have trouble adjusting in the PL, we look at some local talent?

eg: McGuire(?) of Leicester would look good in a Arsenal shirt, and Arsenal has the money to pull this off!

We sold Ox for 43M, Walcott for 40M and Giroud for 18M. Only saying.

We didn't get 40M for Walcott, we only got 20M, mind you that was a brilliant sale for us - as Everton fans are finding out the hard way...

Walcott was £20M.

And the money was quickly reinvested. The point being Kroenke has allowed us to spend big money.

The problem we'll find down the road is if he is going to invest his personal money.

The "Trophy Queen" strikes again! He/she has nothing of substance to say and immediately resorts to personal insult. Feel sorry for him/her.

"Trophy Queen" you really need to work on your grasp of the English language, (as in a recent opinion), before calling someone else an idiot:

eg: "This is the things that bothers me really".

Again, for those with open minds, searching out, evaluating and signing some local talent could be an alternative plan to the one that caused the current mess?

If you are gonna correct people on grammatical errors to make up for your complete lack of football knowledge then you should probably make sure your grammar is correct. “a Arsenal” 😂 moron

Trophy Queen,
You are obviously a very lonely person. Go visit a therapist! In the meantime, kindly get lost!

Overpaying players is a big reason Arsenal are miles behind the pack, with a squad of unshiftable mediocrity.

Is Ramsey good enough for a first 11 looking to truly compete at the top - absolutely not. So you under no circumstances pay him the sort of money he's after.

Our wage bill vs squad quality is arguably the worst in the League, it's time to start again with a sensible approach as it's crippling our financial muscle

Latest roomies are that Juve want to push a deal to bring Ramsey this month, and will either exchange, or exchange plus a little cheddar cheese, Medhi Benatia.

I think he is about 32, plenty of experience but hasn’t really nailed down a permanent spot in the last few years, in either Germany or Italy. Wouldn’t be a long term solution and out back line would the oldest in the league, but could be a good shout.

Going to hurt losing Ramsey either way, going to leave a big hole in the team.

He doesn't get in the team, I would rather keep him as he's OK but not on £200k a week.
