Solskjaer “our 1st proper test next”

Think it will be a draw aswell, we've got Chelsea Tuesday night whereas United have a break, I think we will start strong but fade.

The feel good factor at United at the moment will play a part as well.

I'm going 1-1, we will take the lead but United will peg us back

A win and top 4 is seriously on especially with the way Chelsea and arsenal are playing and their fixtures. After the weekend the only top team we have away is arsenal.

Cardiff away was a testing first fixture, but our first test was away at Newcastle. When we go to Wembley, we will face our first proper test in Spurs. But the real test will come against PSG at home in February. Then the serious stuff starts when we play Liverpool, before a three-game run against PSG, Arsenal and City provides the first genuine test of Solskjaer's managerial credentials.

Forgot you had a game Tuesday actually. Gives us a better chance

Sadly I think we will lose, mainly because Spurs are currently a better team than us. Hope I'm wrong though.

Has to be a positive approach to the game, and 100% focus and determination from the players.

Win, lose or draw, we can't be disappointed by that, regardless of the lineup.

I can see us doing a freak performance and winning like 3-0

Not based on logic but just seems ole has got the gods shining on him and this spurs unit can implode

How many fackin tests do you need?

Testing first at Cardiff

But then another first test at Newcastle

Now you have a proper test at the weekend

However, the real test will be against PSG

But the genuine test comes against PSG (again) then Asenal and City.

Maybe you could add a first serious test against Liverpool, also in Feb?

And maybe a final test against Chelsea at the end of April if any of the above doesn't quite work out!

Every game is a test. But each a different sort of test.

interesting compariosn in the build up to the game.

Spurs have a Carabao SF vs Chelsea on Tuesday.

United are training in the Dubai sunshine.

While the common consensus on this will be that United will be well rested and up for it, while Spurs a bit tired from midweek exertions, often it seems to work the other way around.

I have seen it with Spurs in the past when we have had 2 games a week for weeks on end and performed well, but finding when there is more rest between matches that the intensity is lacking on match day.

Spurs will had 5 days between the SF and Utd, without any travelling.

United will have had 8 days 'rest' and a sun tan, with plenty of travelling.

Should be a fascinating game which I think Spurs will edge after a fast start.

I agree with a lot of this.

Being match sharp can sometimes be better than being well rested. That's why I hope United will try and be sensible for the first 30 minutes or so and weather any Spurs storm. We don't have to win it in the first 30 mins.

Hopefully, if we're still level going into the second half, Spurs will have to come out a bit more (as they really do need a win to maintain their PL title chances) leaving us space on the counter.

It'll be an interesting game and, if United can come through the first 30 mins unscathed, I can see us getting a positive result.

The OP is right though. This is the first game in which Ole's team will not be favourites so it is the first big test.

I mentioned Liverpool. You’re right about Chelsea though - that’s the acid test.
