Why doesn't Ace learn though? And is there a more annoying term than "banter" in the 21st century. Literally everyone hides behind it. Saw some people on it crying about freedom of speech. Read the rules. He was making light of domestic abuse and drink driving. Not unreasonable to think that someone reading it has been impacted in some way by either of those things. Then someone compared it to a stand up comedian. The difference is, if you want to go and watch a cretin like Frankie Boyle, you know what you're getting and you either go and or don't go. Your choice. You don't get that on a forum, especially one that has been created with specific rules in place which means that those kind of topics shouldn't really be "joked" about at all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Frankie Boyle got a fare share of complaints and surely they are all people who havent seen him. Because the people paying to see Frankie surely wont complain about his jokes.
If you have been in a situation of domestic violence best is to unsubscribe from the news paper, do away the TV, shut off internet and never leave your bed again. Otherwise there is a great chance you might run into a comment here or there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really the same is it...unless he media is advocating domestic violence and drink driving or making light of it, which is wouldn't do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wasnt talking about media, I was talking about running into people with an opinion which might be offensive.

Ace is a d!ck. Plain and simple.
He has some really interesting views on football that are decent to read.
Then he just ruins it all with the hardman act which is just embarrassing. It's not funny, it's just the same thing over and over - 'poofs', disrespecting women, abuse to anyone who disagrees with him. It's like he's in a school playground.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doesnt deserve a ban though, you say it yourself, its an act. If you think he is annoying, just filter him. No need to run to admin

Can't see a day where he's considered funny though.
It's a difficult one because who is anyone to say how offended someone else should be by certain comments? We are all different.
Personally, very little bothers me about what someone says on here and I've never been offended by Ace's comments, although I agree sometimes it's like he tries too hard to put on the hard man, wannabe Alf Garnett act, in the same way Boyle often tries too hard to be offensive.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can filter people here. Problem solved, you can control your environment here. This is the thing the modern "liberal" doesn't understand, or more likely does understand but does it anyway; it's not enough to block out things they don't like, the thing they don't like must be silenced to everyone else too. Well that shouldn't be your facking choice to make.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"it's not enough to block out things they don't like, the thing they don't like must be silenced to everyone else too"
Neither side of the snowflake spectrum seem to see the hypocrisy in them saying this. If you see a child wanting to be gender neutral, you'd be the first to say that they are a boy or a girl. There are both right and left wing snowflakes, and you are both equally as offended.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet you mentioned the newspaper and TV?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, there are opinions being shared in news papers and on TV, you know.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That don't promote domestic violence or drink driving. Sigh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You are missing the point

It's a difficult one because who is anyone to say how offended someone else should be by certain comments? We are all different.
Personally, very little bothers me about what someone says on here and I've never been offended by Ace's comments, although I agree sometimes it's like he tries too hard to put on the hard man, wannabe Alf Garnett act, in the same way Boyle often tries too hard to be offensive.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair enough, doesnt deserve a ban though in my opinion
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldn't have either, but I'm more tolerant than others, and generally it feels like we're living in a less tolerant society.

Is this real life though or just the internet and TV? People think the world is going mad but it's mainly just the internet they are basing this on. Also on the otherside people think they are living in a less tolerant society. But is this in real life, or just the internet?

Yep we should all know that joking is a lost art now and humour in anyway shape or from cannot be tolerated in case you offend someone.
Grassed up by your own fans to.

Yeah I read the article, spazzle crying all over it and he obviously complained. They have history so it’s obviously him.

I think you are. My point is solely around Ace's views on here not being comparable to views that are aired in situations you have control in being in.

Ridiculous for him to be banned.
Obviously it wasn't serious. Admin should have just deleted the comment. Massive over reaction imo.
