We have the impression Abraham's a goalscorer because of his record on loan, without it he'd be no different than Solanke.
I agree with Superb in saying I wouldn't have been opposed to us bringing him back as 2nd choice striker now btw, just with six months left on his contract we'd have issues shifting Giroud this month because of his personal circumstances. He's destined for West Ham to stay in London.

Not without throwing him into the first team with a sink or swim attitude. Was just pointing out judging players on their loans is standard and Kane's an anomaly in that respect.
Kane wasn't handed his place at Spurs, he just kept scoring whenever he got minutes to the point Poch was forced to start him and he continued scoring. That's the starting position I'd expect for Abraham going into next season, making him earn 1st choice from the starting position of 2nd choice - which gives him a march on Kane who was initially 3rd choice behind Adebayor & Soldado if I remember correctly.

It's a pretty low risk signing.. 6 month loan with option to extend a year for a year if he does well.
For years we've wanted the board to back the manager.. It's the man Sarri wanted.. the board have backed him.
He'll definitely be an upgrade on Morata and Giroud and gets Hazard out of the false 9 position meaning there's a front 3 of Hazard-Higuain-Pedro all in their best positions.
When you say about giving one of our own a chance I assume you're referring to Abraham.. he's doing it in the Championship.. not the PL.
I'm sorry but I have to disagree with the whole article.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How can you say it's a low risk signing and that he can't be worse than the present strike force we have?
He can easily be as bad and his wages are probably not going to be cheap.
There was only one viable low risk option to take but I don't need to mention his name.
There will never be a better time to try him!
This article has it spot on!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The deal is low risk because unlike Morata who cost £58m.. Higuain cost £0.. yes the club will pay his wages but they can afford to and some.
He's very experienced in 2 top leagues and in the CL.
If you're suggesting Tammy is the man to secure top 4 then we simply can't agree.. If he wasn't a Chelsea player and the club signed him tonight for £40m I'm sure there would be majority on here slating the club for signing a championship player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Then why keep him as a Chelsea player? It's pointless him being at our club. This is exactly the sort of circumstances young players dream of. Ask Harry Kane who was also not rated by many Spurs fans.
If Abraham has any brains he will put in a transfer request in the summer.
Fairplay to the club and Tammy for taking the decision to not put Tammy in a situation where he was set-up/doomed to fail mid-season under Sarri.
Good chap Tammy understood the reality of the situation, steered clear of returning. Wise.

Agree Biggish, he needs to get away from the circus before it ruins his career as it's done to kids before him. He'll be almost 22 when next season starts.
Another loan and he'll start drifting into obscurity like others from the academy.
I agree completely with Brummie. Tammy wouldn't do worse than the shifts other Strikers have been putting. Morata wanted out and Giroud is Giroud. The sensible thing was to bring back Tammy. But, Sarri loves veterans like other Italian managers.
Higuain is one of those strikers that will miss 25 easy chances a game but score from one ridiculously hard chance. He's like Benzema in that respect. He needs it on a plate.
25 easy chances a game, I don't think any team creates that many chances.
He's better known for going missing in big games but being a flat track bully which is what we need. Someone to score the only goal vs teams like Southampton, Leicester etc who sit deep.
Hopefully his good hold up play will be able to bring Hazard and co into scoring positions from areas they want to drive into.
Can i just point out in Tammy's defence:
His "underwhelming" season in the PL was at a really poor team.
He's playing with confidence. He knows where the goal is.
And although I accept the gulf is bigger than it used to be, top division clubs used to take risks on the upper end strikers of the old division 2 all the time.
We did it with Eidur in the Premier League era. I'd say that turned out well.
We're just asking for the club to bring back a player who is ours.
Then we look at Sarri's rationalisation for it. Again as Biggish says, all based on the past. (what are we? Scousers?)
Then to support Sarri's flawless reasoning, he won't drop Alonso because of his contribution to set pieces.
Thank god we don't have a prime Ashley Cole at our club right now. Sarri would sell him to City because he doesn't suit his way of playing
Add in the CHO debacle, the money wasted on poor signings and the general averageness of the squad.
Complacency and arrogance nicely sum us up at the moment. There is a desperate need for a paradigm shift at the club and it must come top down.
------------------------------------------
We absolutely need a good DOF to bring some kind of direction to our haphazard transfer policy and who can oversee our integration of youth into the senior squad. Without a DOF at the club it's difficult to see much changing anytime soon.

Flash I just like to apply logic............
Tammy is a 22 year old striker that has proven in a very short time that he is an excellent Championship striker.
He has not had a reasonable time playing in the PL for anyone to be sure if he can become a decent PL striker, or not, but the club that he plays for has a striker crisis on their hands and choose to avoid him as an option, even though he is banging in goals.
Conclusion...................the club an/or the manager don't believe in him, despite the fact that he can't do anymore than he is. So I have to ask why not sell him then? Why keep him on the books? If he has no value as a Chelsea player under these circumstances then he never will.
Outcome..................The player will leave Chelsea this summer without ever been given the chance (despite ideal circumstances).
The club have just made a farce of this guys attempts to make it at Chelsea. Very bad for the brand.

Feels like Torres/Sheva all over again.
I do like the idea of giving Tammy a chance. I think we'd have beaten Leicester, Southampton and probably Everton with him freeing up Hazard to play in a more natural role.

This is the message I keep trying to get across Biggish but I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall all the time.
And my point of view always seems to be translated into another meaning somehow!
I'm also unhappy about Tammy's treatment but this again takes me back to the point that we have no DOF and no solid experienced football man in charge of what happens at the club regarding transfers or youth development into the senior squad. We just have suits in charge.
Ideally we should have got rid of Giroud as well this window and continued the season with a Higuain and Tammy strike force. Can't be any worse than what we had.

To me the club feels rudderless and in stagnation. Roman has disappeared because of the political situation and the people left in charge don't appear to have a clear vision/strategy. they seem to be making it up as they go along. I agree with you about a DOF. With hindsight I don't think I appreciated Emenalo. was

Superb...
To me the club feels rudderless and in stagnation. Roman has disappeared because of the political situation and the people left in charge don't appear to have a clear vision/strategy. they seem to be making it up as they go along. I agree with you about a DOF. With hindsight I don't think I appreciated Emenalo. was

I'd take him if he's interested although ideally I'd want someone with a lot of football experience and track record. Ranieri would be my first choice although not sure he's finished in management or that he'd want to return to a club where he was sacked as manager.
