Who in our squad needs to be moved on this summer?

Janssen
Vorm - Free
Llorente - Free
N’Koudou
Wanyama

That’s the obvious lot and others you’d like gone?

Mine would be

Aurier
Trippier
Lamela
----------------------------------------------------------------------
not Lamela if we cant sign anyone. Cant see poch moving him or trippier on
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wan-Bissaka
Zaha
Berge
Another Creative CM

Is my wish list

if we could upgrade those players wow what a team we would have
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's the question though. Will we upgrade them or get more of the same standard from the Ligue 1?

As for Janssen, not surprised nobody wants him. Failed at Spurs, failed in Turkey and then not seen in half a year. How could you sign that?

You’d think a Dutch team would want him. Scored 30 goals last time he played in that league.

Maybe the team he came from before he joined us then. I don't know how well AZ are doing now in that department.

Did we try loaning him anywhere?

posted on 1/2/19

I know I could find this out myself but you're usually pretty reliable on this MK - how many home-grown players are there in the squad now? That'll obviously determine some of the ins and outs. I could definitely see Spurs going after a few lower-league English prospects this summer to pad out the home-growns, so the "big" signings (preferably right back, centre mid and forward/striker) can be foreign if needed.

Lots of rumours of teams wanting him but nothing.

Bet levy wanted a perm and wouldn’t loan again

Homegrown players

Trippier
Rose
Winks
Dele
Kane
Davies ( league not Europe )

At this stage it's looking like it might go the same way as Bentley then and Janssen will see out the rest of his contract doing nothing, and like Bentley give up on football because of his experience with us.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
So 2 MORE homegrown players needed before Spurs can have a full squad of 25 (assuming Pochettino even wants that).

For that reason I don't see Trippier leaving - Aurier will get the boot long before he does. Similarly Davies, who to be fair is fine as versatile backup for LB and CB.

Wan-Bissaka and Zaha really would be perfect, but Palace will see Spurs coming a mile off if they try to get them both in one summer.

KWP has to be registered next season so will become another HG player

HG Players just register Skipp & KWP then we are fine.

Seems perverse that Paul Pogba, the French player, is home grown, but England international Erik Jeremy Egdar Dier, isn't

Skipp won’t be registered on the main list for another 3 years.

We did register Ogilvie this season even though he went out on loan

It’s not a nationality thing though it’s a education thing.

So just one more home-grown player "needed" this summer. I can still see Spurs going after promising Championship youngsters though, if they want to get players for sub-£20m.

Might even leave headroom for Trippier and/or Davies to be sold...

I know that, and that's why its perverse. I know under EU law you cannot discriminate on the basis of nationality so this is the way around it. Seems flawed though. It might be promoting the academy system but our academys are packed full of foreign kids which doesnt necessarily promote English youth

Not sure Zaha has what it takes to mae it at the highest level.

Seems content to be the big man at Palace. Even chose Ivory Coast having played at youth/U21 and full international level for England .

Seems to like being a big fish in a little pond.

I think you’ll find they aren’t full of foreign kids. It’s prob a 75/15 split in favour of British kids.

Also let’s not forget we’ll benefit from this if say Troy Parrott becomes what’s expected of him as being Irish the time he becomes 21 he’ll be classed as homegrown

English youth levels are doing very well.

I've got a feeling that eriksen and toby are going to be needed to pay the builders.

comment by Chronic (U3423)

well eriksen and toby are off so they will need replacing

zaha definitely we should be looking to bring in. plus a quality CM, and a quality CB.

a better striker back up than llorete is required. so that's 4 signings.

we should also have a close look at the GK situation. not saying anything should happen, but we should certainly be exploring if there are better options out there than LLoris.

So Levy thinks he can not spend for two windows and deliver a stadium 6 months late and counting.

---------

well he clearly can... as he has just done that
