Never understood the “support your local” mantra, I think you cant control which team you feel attachment to.
Funny how few people 'feel attached' to less successful clubs.
Or how few people in areas with successful clubs support other sides 🧐

Maybe thats your experience, but a close friend of mine supports Fulham simply because they seemed like a fun club to support. I know someone else who picked Newcastle because he loved Shearer, and still supports them now.

So to summarise, the Reds use to be good but now it's the Blues ruling the roost.
Apart from Merseyside obviously.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everton won a title before Liverpool did.
In fact Chelsea, $purs, West Ham and Le Ar$e all won European trophies before Liverpool did.
Historically teams that play in red were more socialistic/working class orientated, where as blue teams more conservative.
In big cities there is much more of a working class culture. So wih football originally being a "working class sport" red teams from big cities got more support and grew faster, making them more successful historically.

Shankly believed the red psychology thing... Thats why they went all red

Maybe because Liverpool were spawned from Everton?

Most people support the team their Dad does.
The only people who care where you're from are the people who happen to live near to their own team.
I find it pathetic when people raise the subject, which happens a lot as a United fan... coincidentally ever since we started winning a lot of trophies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No - most people support the team their dad support if it's Yoonited or Southampton 'B' and they live in Plymouth, Torquay or Lincoln.
If dad supports Plymouth, Torquay or Lincoln Jnr still supports the Reds!

I think you could widen that to Premier League clubs to be fair.
I think we can conclude that the Reds are in fact far greater than the Blues
I think the league table would disagree with you
As would the blue wdk which is far superior to the red one
If we’re going by that haven’t you played a game more?

Are you referring to any clubs in particular there?
I thought some of the original rules had sides play in red or blue to distinguish themselves from the other team, and some stuck with them.
If you say "I'm feeling blue", it's generally not a nice feeling. Therefore Red has to be better.
I put dog treats on a red circle and a blue circle for my dog to decide.
He ate the treats on the red circle and shat on the blue circle.
That settles it.
