Shouldn’t The Spursy Tag now be Binned?

Spurs should be commended, not mocked. I mean they are doing really well for the size of club that they are. They are never going to win as many trophies as the likes of Birmingham, Wigan, Swansea, Leicester etc. have in the past decade. They are doing really, really well all things considered so leave them alone as you’re being nasty.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But those teams haven't built a new stadium which has prevented them from capitalising on the 'title challengers' they have put up these past few seasons. We all know once the stadium is built, Spurs will be a different animal.

We can’t shake off the tag yet.
Let’s face it if we get within 2 or 3 points of top spot we will most likely falter. Until we don’t the Spursy tag will remain
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Spurs are 20/1 for the title, so nobody fancies Spurs, so there is nothing to bottle. If they have got within 2 or 3 points of the top spot, it is because they have showed super bottle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where Chelsea “ bottlers “ yesterday , will Chelsea be called bottlers if they lose to Utd this weekend or City in the final.

Not sure that writing this after wins Vs Newcastle, Watford & Leicester is the best timing.... They were games we should have won. Injuries are just an excuse. If our Squad is not deep enough then Levy & poch deserve stick but every team has bad luck.... ours is self made.

If we get thumped by 4 or 5 away at City & Liverpool and fail to beat Chelsea & Arsenal then nothing will have really changed.

We are going well in whats been a tough season but we gotta stop making excuses otherwise we'll never progress.

Rival fans can say what they want... who gives a fack. The only thing that will shut them up is winning something
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My point was Spurs fans are calling the team Spursy

As for the timing of my article, it really has nothing to do with the last 4 results. We have been in the PL top 3 for the last 3 seasons and I think the club deserves some respect for that. At the very least from its own fans
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So do I, their is a lot of negative fans on the board, Ted being the worse, cannot believe a team is going for four top three finishes in a row, and they are called bottlers. I was very annoyed with the cup exits, but that was nothing to do with bottling, it was all to do with poor team selection.

Spurs are doing very well despite being the 5th biggest club in London (after Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham, Charlton)

You were doing so well until you threw La @rse in

You can complain all you want about being labelled bottlers, but until we get that monkey off our back and actually win something, how can you blame people ? When we get to the final hurdle of a title push or to win a trophy, we always come up short and fail when it matters. That’s why we have that tag of “bottlers” and until we actually achieve something, it will unfortunately follow us around like a bad smell. Our league fork is outstanding and we are doing brilliant to be outside title challengers, but fact of the matter is we haven’t achieved anything yet.

Yet what has winning trophies done for Brum , Wigan and Swansea in the Championship and struggling.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's like comparing Michael Schumacher and Karen from reception. One has won trophies but is now pretty facked. the other sometimes drives her car (terribly) near silverstone. She is now complaining that people are mocking her for claiming to be a successful racing car driver.

Spurs = Karen

The true bottlers are teams like Chelsea, United and Arsenal, who are miles of the pace in the Prem, despite spending absolute fortunes on players and wages. The way United are being bigged up is laughable, still forgetting they are a countrymile behind Spurs, and a chasm off the top.

Don, forgive me but I think your mixing things up.

We have not yet won the PL or CL because we don't have the finances to invest in the players required for those acheivements. If we do have the finances, then the Board should be blamed for not investing more....but this have nothing to do with the players being bottlers.

As for "winning something" Where are Wigan now after their FA cup success? Or where are Portsmouth? The club has made a concerted effort at putting the PL and CL first as its priority. Now you can argue with that decision, but you can't justifiable call the team bottlers as a result.

Depends if you actually wanna win something. That's what Sport is all about. Some fans on here are like women.... So Desperate for attention that they'll overhype the smallest achievement..... We as fans & especially our players need to shut our mouths until a trophy is in the bag (Top 4 not a trophy).... You want credit..... Go earn it. If the squad isn't good/ big enough that we run outta steam or run Kane into the ground every year then get on Levy's ar5e to go and do something about it. Too many guys on here are like sheep.... Full of excuses and willing to settle for that BS that "its better than it used to be"..... Total garbage. Some of us want more from the club. Beating also rans in the league, blowing off cups and losing the big games that matter isn't good enough..... Its how complacency sets in.

Lets go beat Liverpool or City away... then take a bow

No not until we win something.

Yes we are punching above our weight, we are mixing it with the big boys and we have such a fantastic team with truly class players HOWEVER, let's be honest we have won fack all. 2 cups in the last 30 years is bit of a joke.

Well, it's clear that we have different view. So let's agree to disagree.

I am enjoying the progress that Spurs have made over the years and I find it incredible that despite all the adversity that the team has had to deal with this season that we're still 3rd with an outside chance of winning the title.

You (and others) seem to think that if we don't win the PL or CL or a cup, that we're bottlers. That also is incredible.

But you made a silly point of questioning if Chelsea are bottlers. I hate Chelsea more than any team, but how can you label a club that wins trophies on a regular basis bottlers it’s not about me being “captain suicide”, I’m just stating facts here and Spurs don’t win s**. You can stick your head in the sand all you want mate but until Spurs start achieving stuff, then we will forever be labelled it. Like Diamond says, to many Spurs fans are happy to continue how we are but not actually improve.

No we don’t mate. Who said anything about us having to win the CL or league ? I think we are justified in wanting the club to win a trophy or 2 every now and then considering we have just 1 measily league cup to our name in 20 years. Mentioning Wigan and Portsmouth has no relevance whatsoever as they are in a completely different position to where we are at now when they were winning stuff. This Spurs side should be winning stuff, it’s as simple as that.

Spursy is just another word for unlucky, which you can't really deny that we have been in recent years gone by. It's all a bit of a laugh anyway. I don't see the problem in it and I'm happy to use it until we win something.
