I just don’t personally think Skipps is ready yet to be starting games for us. Next year maybe will be his breakthrough year who knows.

Who is this 'Skipps' you speak of, Don?

Just not for me henge at the moment. Against better sides, Skipp will get exposed trust me. Happy to be proved wrong and hope he comes good, but I just don’t think he’s ready yet.

But he wouldn’t be playing against the better teams ( although remember he came on 1st leg of semi final and made a crucial tackle on hazard ).

He’s playing because of injuries and doing a decent job. It’s probably 2 seasons to early for him tbh. It’s the most difficult and demanding position and he’s yet to fill out but overall he’s currently worth his spot in the squad

You have to admit though MK, he wouldn't get in the first eleven of any PL team if all players were fit.

I think we just had too many bodies in the middle vs Leicester and Skipp was an easy target of criticism.

he's an 18 year old development player, playing because of lack of squad depth in the CM area. He'd get into a championship team and a full season loan starting for one of them sides would be great.

For a kid that’s stepped up from the under 18s and in to the first 11, he’s doing well, definitely a good future ahead of him.

He is a championship player at best. Unbelievable that Poch thinks he is ready to play for a top four side.

don't really understand what skipp is.

first time you saw winks play you could tell hes a ball playing midfielder. pass and move. hes also got a bite to his game which I love.

skipp I'm not sure what he is. is he a stopper? is he a ball player? is he a dribbler? physical presence? definitely not that.... maybe hes an all rounder?

Hes playing because Spurs squad needs a massive upgrade, hes the best available and that tells you something about the depth of our squad, definitely not a top 4 squad on paper we have over achieved so far

Here’s a good video of him > https://streamable.com/txmg3

He’s very Winks like in this but he’s normally a bit more box to box.

Note he’s directly up against Sancho in this and he definitely got the better of him and you know Sancho not a bad player

I said something g similar few weeks back and got roasted Chronic. I just don’t think he has enough to his game to reach the level of the upper echelons of the PL.

Have to agree with Sandy, playing Skipp was a disaster against Leicester. He’s clearly need ready at the moment so we need to stop being sentimental in hoping we are unearthing the next spurs youth star all the time. Time to get the experience back in there. Dier should be starting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Agree Don, I know Skipp is only 18, but I see absolutely nothing to suggest he is going to make it. I can usually spot talent at an early age. Best, Greaves, Pele at that age you could see they would be star quality. Skipp looks like your typical championship player by the time he reaches 25. Another Onomah, simply not good enough. He may prove me wrong, but I doubt it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
what a statement, whoopy well done Sandy, Greaves was a star before he arrived at Spurs unless you went to Chelsea in those days

I did go to Stamford Bridge back in the day, so saw Jimmy play for Chelsea as well in his last season for Chelsea, he was and still is my all time favourite footballer of all time.

I shall be in my usual pub the Spoons at Kingsbury, just outside the station. Usually in there about 4.30. You cannot miss me, I have the rosette and rattle.
