Pogba did down tools. Carragher was right to criticise him as was Neville. If anything, Carragher gave Pogba too much credit to suggest his form was down to the player's limitations and not him downing tools.

Na he just had a massiveCunt of a manager.
I don't understand why football fans have to be so fickle. The player downed tools and let the previous manager down. Regardless of how well he's playing now, you can't erase what he did and bury your head in the sand because it suits you. You have to accept that instead of rewriting history and somehow claiming Pogba was wronged by Mourinho. Mourinho actually did a lot for Pogba including changing his formation to accommodate Pogba and even giving him the captaincy at one point. Pogba then let Mourinho down by publicly criticising him and downing tools.
Please don't rewrite history.

Oh yea? He had a hand in all our comebacks when we could have got rid of the actual virus.
This guy works for Sky Sports, purely for the banter he has with G.Neville

This is true.
Jose was supposed to be sacked after Newcastle, Pogba and Martial, the players he hated most saved him that game.
There was only one virus and its been cured
Pogba was poor this season when he did play and he crossed a line no player ever should cross when he publicly criticised Mourinho. Regardless of your personal feelings towards Mourinho, you should know that no player ever is allowed to publicly criticise their manager.
I admit he did down tools in Jose's last few games though, no point having tools when you are sat on the bench watching plodders take your place.
He was right Pogba was absolutely rubbish at the start of the season. He did not give a hoot about Man Utd and walked around like a big sulking kid. Your manager was hopeless and so was Pogba. Carra was only saying what he saw. For £90m you expect more. He never tried and that was the issue. I have mates who support Utd and they all slagged him off at that time.
He was on the bench because he downed tools and publicly criticised the manager. Is that OK behaviour to you? A player publicly criticising the manager?

Seems a bit unfair, no?
Jose criticised almost every player in public.. He should expect some back.

Are you for real? A manager never gets criticised by their players publicly. Any player that does that deserves a one way trip to the reserves and never to play for the club again.
I can't believe you actually said that.
Imagine if any player publicly criticised Sir Alex while he was manager? Would be you be OK with that? You're letting your personal feelings towards Mourinho get in the way of what's obviously right or wrong.
""And there's an idea that it's one or the other. That if Mourinho goes you'll see a new Pogba, you won't, I can assure Manchester United fans you won't."
"That if Mourinho goes you'll see a new Pogba, you won't, I can assure Manchester United fans you won't.
"No one plays for two years and all of a sudden you change your manager and there's a different player, we've seen what Pogba is as a player."
That's the part he's most wrong about, no one is denying Pogba has been below par all season under Jose.
But saying a player won't suddenly improve when a cancer like Jose is gone, was just madness. Everyone knew there would be a difference and it's been huge.
In fact, the whole team has improved so it makes his statement look even worse.

if pogba downed tools then so did every utd player I guess since their all miles better now? apart from lukaku and sanchez they've still not grasped how to pick up their screwdrivers
Lots of players downed tools at united.
Even if the manager was a total caaant they downed tools.
Whoever was 'in the right' between Pogba and JM, Utd clearly needed to get rid of one of them. Looks like they chose the correct one by their results since doing so.
As a Spurs fan I'm just glad they left it as long as they did, as they're actually starting to perform to the level they should be at now.

someone should read this out to him on the next Monday night football
We all know Pogba wasn't performing to the best of his abilities. But if he's not allowed to burst into the box and leave 'his area' on the pitch it massively restricts his game.
Even at the start of the season this year, having come 2nd last season, we were the lowest in terms of sprints, work rate etc. That's just how he set us up. Nothing changed in terms of effort from the players imo. Especially as we were just as bad when his 'favourites' like Matic, Lukaku and Fellaini were regularly playing ahead of others.
People confuse being shiyte with downing tools.
Do people really think if our players tried a bit harder we'd have been performing like we are under Ole now?

When your best players aren't playing well the team is going to struggle and that's going to make the others look worse too. Pogba wasn't the only one who downed tools either.
What is wrong with United fans? Just admit Pogba downed tools and accept it. What does denying it do for you? It just makes you look delusional.
