Pretty easy to look back with hindsight though isn't it? I'm sure some felt he'd improve with a more attacking manager but I doubt anyone thought he'd be playing at the level he is now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really. Most could see there was a quality player in there. He is supposed to be a football expert and got it so horribly wrong
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hasn't he scored something like 8 goals since OGS came in? Did you honestly believe he'd start being that influential so quickly just because Mourinho went?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No but I had a feeling he would start performing much better. Either way carriages looks like a bit of an idiot being a so called football expert and getting it so horribly wrong

"That if Mourinho goes you'll see a new Pogba, you won't, I can assure Manchester United fans you won't. We've seen what Pogba is as a player."

Think that's the key bits for the Carra mocking tbh.

Rest of it is pretty accurate and goes along with what a lot on here have said in the past.

Not really. Everything about Pogba game looked to be about bad attitude from not tracking runners to being generally lazy. This is the best form of his career goal wise and considering you get so much wrong yourself I'd expect a little more empathy tbh.

Jose was a bad fit for us, no doubt. Everyone, Robb in at least as early as October agreed that Jose had to go if he couldn't change.

For the first few months of the season, many on this board were wanting both of Jose and Paul gone. Many.

Pogba's own words post match were that he wasn't trying hard enough.

He had been very inconsistent for two years prior, folks like VC detested Jose and we're right in wanting Jose gone, but we're also adamant that Pogba was vastly overrated.

When Pogba's performances for years were underwhelming, when him and his agent are on record for wanting away, when his own words were that he wasn't trying hard enough, it's no surprise that a very large number of folk on here lost hope and/or wanting him gone.

It's extremely disingenuous to turn around and mock a pundit for having an opinion, or something similar, many of us also held.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In his defence though Dave I'd also add that in his criticism of Jose he said that they wanted to attack and thats how Man Utd play.

Since Jose left it looks like a different team going forward and a lot of the credit for that has to go to Ole, but its re-invigorated players that were looking to get away. The bad atmosphere around the club was all down to Jose and it was badly affecting the team. I wouldn't have wanted to stay under that cloud either.

I wouldn't Gob on Carragher if he was on fire.

Although he would still probably Gob on me if I wasn't.

Use your small brain just for a minute and understand why his attitude was bad. I’m not saying it’s right but he isn’t the only one with a poor attitude. Majority of people could see there was a quality player in there.
It’s cute you are defending a club legend to the hilt though even though he has kinda looked a bit of a fool not for the first time

Genuinely stopped reading here because that's what having a good attitude is all about.

Think Herrera.

(1) Well Carra was obviously completely wrong in the sense that we are seeing a different player. Reading is was very funny!

(2) Lots of debate on how he 'downed tools' countered by how he'd also been instrumental in a couple of comebacks. He was clearly demotivated and unhappy, which resulted in his not giving 100% all the time (in fact hardly any of the time). That's plain to see. Like many of the players, I also think there was a lot of confusion over his role (over-coaching). The fact he grew to like Jose and the tactics less and less further eroded his desire to really try. So, if that's downing tools then that's what he did. But I think it was more of a passive thing than an active, conscious decision.

He deserves to be mocked Dave, he made it personal by joining in with Gary Neville by telling Pogba to get out of the club. It’s hes job to analyse football not judge players as human beings.

He crossed the line for me, he’s also very bad at his job in my opinion.

And even when he did down tools he had better stats than all your midfielders

To be fair Pogba is also to blame, less so than Jose because it appears he was right to stick to his guns and it was certainly in part the style causing him to be rubbish.

He did that at the expense of the club and fans though, that shouldn't be forgiven so easily.

Maybe someone can wake Naby Keita up next.

No idea why people keep saying this. Doesn't this happen at every club? Didn't Liverpool fall of a cliff under Brenda and Woy towards the end? Even under KKKenny? Same as at City too under Mancini and Pelligrini.

This isn't specific to united. It's just part of the game now.

I read many of your match threads and loads of you were giving him abuse for his pathetic performances. Get of your high horses because he has now played a few good games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Players can be good/bad without it being because they've downed tools.

They might not be fitting in well with the system the team is playing, they might be low on confidence, they could just be shiyte.

Has Keita downed tools for Klopp?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No he was one of our best midfielders in the last 2 games
