that said, if you don’t care about image, they are decent cars.

Diesel cars are in decline now, look at what it’s done to Range Rover for example. The ULEZ charge coming into london has hit the diesel market hard too. The future is certainly hybrid/electric.

Fair enough. I’m concerned that deisel will eventually by hit by tax due to the health concerns, so I’d be tempted to go hybrid instead.

Yup I think they are gonna r@pe deisel owners, especially here in Scotland as the snp are now in bed with the greens, even though a few years back they were all telling us to go diesel

She’s a lovely car, still brings in the complements from random strangers lol, I did look at getting another one if the price was right, love the black version but not found a good enough deal

It’s on pcp so can basically get rid anytime (as long as negative equity isn’t too bad)

There was sone good deals on that new version saloon, forget its name, around. It’s quite a nice car too.

I’ve driven a Hyundai i20 and the Tucson, probably the worst cars I’ve ever had the misfortune to drive. Don’t know about this Santa Fe.

It was so bland, literally had 0 power and felt like I was driving an arm chair. Also the gear stick was a nightmare to move about.

Actually on a 160mile journey got 44mpg.. but god that was a boring boring drive, never did that again its made for driving.

back to topic, definitely hybrid, but would really strongly look into hydrogen cell technology and be ahead of the game.
Santa Fe was decent, i hired one when RITH jnr and his 5 mates needed to go somewhere, decent drive and if Hyundai put a hydrogen version out that should be the one to really look at.

Because of who I work for, I can get large discounts (around 20-25%)of Jaguar/Land Rover/Range Rover new car prices, and around (15-20%) off Nissan too, lots of workmate's have been snapping up those Jag F-Pace models but the depreciation in the first year alone is horrendous, the best models to look at would be the Evoque, but second year road tax is around £450

Get a 3 wheeler

If you've got off-street parking then consider electric or plug-in hybrid, or if your workplace has a charging point. If you end up going full greenie and getting solar panels you can cut your fuel bills down to almost nothing. Shame only the wealthy can afford to save money at the moment!

What are your other needs - boot space, kids, range, comfort, price range, new/used etc.? There's a lot of choice around at the moment.

picked myself up a TT roadster a few weeks ago for the summer - 2104 plate, diesel, 50 to the gallon if driven conservatively, otherwise ~ 45 mpg.
