Questionable Penalties against us..

We steve not the FA favourites or the media darlings

I said at half time yesterday that Kane would get a pen awarded to him and I wasn't mistaken.

Note you say nothing about the “soft” penalty you got yesterday. Or do they not come into the equation?

Whilst Kane was offside, he was clearly pushed by Mustafi and was a clear foul, irrespective of the missed offside.

Think the pen for Kane was alright. Mustafi had another brain fart but it was offside before.

Think Kane in general gets too many decisions in his favour. He is clearly a diver and hopefully VAR will sort it out.

Kane has scored something like 5 pens against us in total

In the last 3 season he has scored the most penalties in the league

It's golden boy favouritism

Rooney got it and now it's Kane

Yes our pen was soft and is probably the softest one we have had all season. However he missed but it should have been taken.

On the subject of Kane I'm sure that like his 4th or maybe 5th penalty he's scored against us.

In Arsenal pomp with Henry and Co we never got that amount of pens against spurs even though we dominated games and had plenty of play inside the spurs box.

I’ll only comment on the 2 against us, as they’re the only ones I actually know of.

The first one, the defender has 2 kicks at Salah in quick succession and every fan would be screaming for that pen.

Second one, if a defender wants to put his forearm into a players back in the penalty area then he’s asking for trouble.

The penalty that arsenal missed yesterday was extremely soft but Sanchez was stupid enough to have a nibble and was punished.

Stop facking moaning.

Thought you can read. Not talking about yesterday's game

Kane definitely looks for pens at most opportunities he can. He did it twice yesterday, he was pretty much through on goal, but delayed his shot waiting for contact, none came and he ended up going too wide. On the penalty he did get he chose to go down instead of attempting to head the ball. It was a foul, but he most likely could have headed the ball in. It was a good height for him and he didn’t make an effort to head it

To suggest the penalties we got were questionable is silly. Salah gets kicked multiple times and Lovren is shoved over.

Kane puts himself about in the area and goes for everything, that is why he gets fouled on occasions.

I think it is very difficult for fans of ALL clubs to be unbiased when it comes to incidents in the box and elsewhere on the pitch.

Rose was definitely fortunate to only get a yesterday, with another referee he might well have walked.

Showing the inconsistency of referees, I thought Torreira made contact with the ball first and I did not think there was “intent” to hurt Rose, should also have been a yellow.

As for Sanchez, I saw his dig at Koscielny & he cannot be surprised if the FA take retrospective action if Taylor did not see it.

That's a sensible comment.

Palace have had 8 or 9 penalties this season, and a lot of them have been soft. Obviously Zaha is a serial diver, but it is an abnormal amount especially for a bottom half team.
Leicester are similar - again they have a renowned diver in Vardy.

VAR wil certainly stir it up. Doubt debates will go away.

And on the other side, we have been denied some stonewallers this season when players have tried to stay on their feet. Iwobi and Laca two examples from earlier this season.

I don’t know the stats for this season but for the last two season we are the team with most penalties given against. That’s statistically not correct as we are not nearly the weakest team defensively nor the team with most touches in the penalty area by far. And still this tendency continued for two seasones. If that was only incompetence surely the stats would even out in for two seasons.

Re the Spurs pen yesterday:

FA rules state that if "a player in an offside position is moving towards the ball with the intention of playing the ball and is fouled before playing or attempting to play the ball, or challenging an opponent for the ball, the foul is penalised as it has occurred before the offside offence."

As a result, Mustafi's foul on Kane took place before he was deemed to have committed an offence by being in an offside position, therefore the penalty was the right call.

Also the penalty arsenal got at the end was absolutely ridiculous. Player went down so easily, so even if you agree the spurs penalty was wrong (it wasn’t) then they even each other out

This article is a bit OTT but that was a blatant penalty, no matter how soft it looked. If we did not get a penalty for that it would have been an outrage.

Really Bats?

Do you honestly think that?

There was absolutely minimal vibrancy between Sanchez and auba and I was fuming when the ref gave it, especially as the linesman clearly and correctly didn’t flag for it.
