He had 2 good seasons. He also wasn’t responsible for how much was spent and how well it was spent.

Good is subjective.
And of course he has a say in what is spent. He makes a massive, public song and dance about the players he needs ffs.
He should have been sacked last season after the Saville game. He started of well but the second half of the season was shocking, he continued that form to this season and then was rightly sacked.
First season he finished 6th scoring a measly 54 goals and won 2 tier two trophies with a reasonably easy run in. He did ok but was never the right manager for Utd.

But he doesn’t negotiate the fee or wages or sign the cheques.

No, but he is quite clear that he wants to buy a top quality player for a certain position, as opposed to working with what he has.
The club supported him by going out and signing a lot of players for a lot of money, and I would have expected better results for that.

At the end of the day, how Jose did at United probably isn’t that relevant to how he’ll do at Real. Different jobs, different players, different lots of things.
Good luck to the guy, he’s been very complimentary to Ole this week so I doubt many United fans would begrudge both managers doing well in their roles.

He's finished at the top level. Bizarre appointment by Real if they go for him.

So?
I’d expect him to do better with the amount of money that was spent on the team he was managing - fairly straightforward point.
Honestly, Madrid have lost it if they go through with this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxl8iwj0xWY
Mourinho and his son playing football.
Hard to believe he didn't make it as a player
Mourinho and Pérez parted on friendly terms, and he also retains a cult following amongst the ultras for whom waging war on Barça justifies anything and everything.
Pretty much everyone else, including Pérez's advisors, would be against his return.
As we all know, it's Pérez who calls the shots, which is why no-one's ruling out a Mourinho return, but there are other options to look into and the club also surveys its members and the wider fanbase regularly, and most of us prefer to hope that Pérez wouldn't appoint José a second time.
Wahl to feature heavily on the Madrid board now.

It’s quite simple. Players aren’t better the more than you pay for them.
You wouldn’t expect half the goals we do from Lukaku if we’d pay £40m instead of £75m would you ?
