I can see where your coming from but Kieta and Fabinho were brought in to change the dynamic. Keita has been poor and Fabinho has been blowing hot and cold.

Difficult.

I was surprised fabinho didn't start he's our best mf for me. Do mind wij but I do think henderson is pretty 1 dimensional...vs the top sides I think we have better options than henderson.

Agree it just doesn't really work v teams who h gave good players in midfield. They don't keep the ball well enough.

Hendo was poor, his passing was slow, innacuate and he gave away the free they scored from too.

Henderson very poor today and only till our best midfielder came on that we started to take the attack back to Spurs.

Really? That's some revisionism. You looked at your most vulnerable after those changes, and had Spurs' wastefulness to thank for not conceding.

Fabinho should be the first name on the team sheet when it comes to midfield. He brings balance to our midfield

Yes spurs had chances on the break because we were over committed in attack. Playing 4 strikers and full backs told to stay forward.

Prior to the Spurs equaliser we were camped in our half. They were all over us and the goal was coming.

Henderson is not a good footballer , he can’t do anything - it’s nothing personal just facts

I do, we win with it. PSG Keita played, those three didn't. Lost by one goal away to City, missed a great chance, not the midfield at fault. Napoli missed a host of chances, not the fault of the midfield.

You're talking gash, Gash.

This is true. We basically went 4-2-4 and the midfield was non-existent. It was all or nothing. Luckily it was all.

Dont think Fabinho did any better to be honest and that sub actually affected Liverpool.

For me its not the personnel, its the tactics. If you play Milner, then you go full press, not half press. Same thing with Henderson.

Your fullbacks are not suited to sitting back, they play better on the half way line and for that to happen, Milner and Henderson cant be sat in front of the Center backs.

This win will definitely give Liverpool the boost they need but Klopps tactics get weird by the day

He seems to be a managers player but he's not having a good season for me, I've really noticed his short passing recently it's often slightly behind the player and to his weaker foot which slows every thing down.

Keita was a 2nd half sub

City were all over us and only when Fabinho came on that we took the game back to City.

You have no idea.

Unwilling to accept that Spurs backup midfield was all over us. All Henderson and Milner did was concede fouls.

That's exactly my personal views on him. People think we don't like him. But he's playing ahead of far better players like Fabinho which is very annoying. The club come first.

I didn't realise how much people underrated Fabinho. He controls and protects are midfield consistently more than any other midfielder in the squad. He's been a steal

I have been a big advocate of Henderson and thought he was excellent for England this week , but he was poor today and Milner is not a first team player this season either. Would like to see fab and Gini plus one of Lallana or keita for the next game .

posted on 31/3/19

They didn't play great today but won just as many games against top opposition as they've lost.

The problem was Klopp reacted too slow to Spurs' tactical change as the midfield were decent enough until that point.

Fabinho has to be playing these games, we instantly improved when he came on. Milner needs to be the one to make way imo.

I meant Napoli not PSG.

So you've listed two games, both where the midfield where fine and we lost by one goal away and two of the best games in Europe and a third game when those three didn't start.

You're talking gash, Gash.

We didn't improve at all, especially in midfield, we dramatically got worse but that wasn't due to personnel, it was due to going 4-2-4 due to needing a win and the midfield got bypassed time and time again. They had many dangerous counters after the change, which was to be expected when Klopp took the risk.

Fabinho should have come on when they changed their shape. We left it too late and nearly suffered due to it.

Favinho has been brilliant even in his early games the promising signs were there, he lacks a bit of pace being his only real weakness, can be a bit rash at times and if he gets booked early hes a scary watch.

Said for a long long long long time now Hendo as underrated as he is by some its fair to say should be nothing more than a squad player for us and we should certainly not be playing wij hendo n milner in a mf three all similar all wna do the same job.

That said Keitas not really worked out has he forw,e reason, too shy little injury setbacks everytime he gets a few games or gets benched.

Fabinho has more quality on the ball then wij hendo and milner combined, muh more creative.

We miss ox and an in form pre injury lallana, he was a key player for us and england before his injury his pressing and work rate and movement between the lines did a lot for our front 3. Ox pace and bursts from the middle the same gives the opposition more to think about. I doubt they give a sheite when they see hendo wij and milner in mf not exactly gna hurt you are they?
