Agreed.
He's a much better all round player this season and the difference between him now and last summer (where quite honestly I thought he found his level at Palace) is night and day.
Happy for him, and us.
So the question is, do we put the improvement down to our manager ,or is it a general maturing ,both physically and mentaly from RLC.
I go for the second one ,and also a greater understanding of his game ,due in part to Sarri's acute handling of him.
not acute, astute,pardon me .

Ruben deserves his share of the credit but Sarri also, he's the first manager at club level who's truly focused on developing him instead of shoe horning him somewhere that hides his weaknesses.
I don't want to say I told you so Van Ban...
But
I gave you 5 though Van Ban

What DL11 said. I didn't think he'd make it to our level, like Chalobah clearly hasn't, but he's impressed me more and more each time I've seen him this season, there's a maturity to his game that wasn't there before.
Credit has to go to Sarri aswell. You don't improve on the tactical aspects of the game as much as he's done in 8 months without the manager having something to do with it

Sideshow I always felt the academy sides were more balanced without him playing even if he was the best on paper in that age group.
The main case in point was the 2014 youth cup final Vs Fulham , he got subbed off at 2-3 with us all over the place and we went and won 5-3.

Ronnie...why are you so critical of a player that has hardly played, mostly down to injury...?
That said he is looking good & seemingly fit now, so hoping for good things to continue

I don't get why people seem to enjoy kicking him Sheriff. I always thought he was a good player in the academy (although I did think Baker was more dynamic).
For me the only reason people see him as underdeveloped is because the club have never given him a platform to showcase himself.
Never given a chance by us and not given any proper exposure to 1st team football until half way through his 21st year (and even that was at Palace), I think he's done amazingly well to have achieved what he has, in basically just 18 months of top flight football.
