Ok, who would you choose as Arsene Wenger's replacement then..
There is no adequate replacement for Wenger, making him irreplaceable.
There is no adequate replacement for Wenger
You don't know until you have the opportunity to try.
I can't see anyone out there that could do a better job than Wenger..
Good job you won't be in charge of looking for a replacement.
There are plenty of people who would do well on a low budget, but your style of play may have to change first.
Godleebarnes
Do you think Wenger's time is up then?
I disagree with quite a few of your points as well but don't want to go through it all..

IMO hes taken us as far as he can but no I don't think his time is up as I can't see him getting the sack, Id rather give someone else the chance to do a better job then getting progressively worse which we have been for the last 4 years under Wenger and that's statistically correct not an opinion.
I'm just on the M1 with Super Steve Kean in the back, Sat Nav set for the stadium that trophies forgot!
The GOONER (U4256)
I shall answer your questions as I'm such a nice guy, although I'm tired as hell. You're welcome.
How did you work that one out then ?
---
I came to a logical conclusion that while there are other managers available, none would work as well at Arsenal, as the club over the last 15 years has moulded around Wenger. A dry spell of sorts is no reason to just destroy that.
Why would a so called "ARSENAL" supporter even think that ?
----
Why just because I'm an Arsenal fan does it mean I can't think that? This is a silly question, and obvious in it's answer.
Do you know Arsenal FC had a great and proud history BEFORE the Wenger era ?
-----
Yes, but not one so with a manager whose won as many trophies as Wenger has. Why do you want to kick out our most successful manager? Do you hate our club? Did you know we didn't win the PL for 18 years? Yet there was nowhere near as much moaning as now
Do you realise Arsenal FC will still exist long after Wenger is no longer alive ?
----
Of course, but how is that a reason to fire him now. He's still alive, very much so, so that arguement is void.
Again, you're welcome
He does seem to lie more and more these days.
But then, so does everybody associated with the club, (the "Arsene's letter" PR stunt being a prime example".
Regards Denilson/Carrick; that's the trouble with youth... you can never be sure of which players are going to be the ones to hit the heights.
That's has ulitmately been our downfall. Too many youngsters hyped, given bigger contracts, only to then fall short, meaning we can't even sell them now - Bendtner, Denilson and Vela aren't on loan because they have a future at the club, (and if you think they still do, you're mistaken).
Tactically he isn't the greatest - but we've known this for a while now.
RVP should not have been made captain. Ultimately it probably won't stop him leaving next summer unless things pick up drastically, which would suggest investment in the squad during January, (something that the manager is reluctant to do).
"Flops" are a part of the game. Like most managers, Wenger has signed flops since he started his reign. Fortunately for us he was also signing players that soon turned out to be brilliant for us too.
These days we have to wait longer for the successes to become successful because they are generally signed at a much younger age than previously.
I've never known a manager sign so many duff CBs though and that is a concern. His dithering over a goalkeeper didn't help us a couple of seasons back either. Arsene must be relieved that Szczesny is fast becoming one of our standout players now and thus has his indecision in the transfer market has largely been forgotten and forgiven on this occassion.
Ulimately though, whilst Wenger isn't irreplaceable, he is now responsible for so many different things at Arsenal, that is would be incredibly difficult to find one man that could take over his role at the club's helm.
It'd probably take three or four people to replace him... and I'm sure that that suits Arsene just fine.
How can people think a club with 100 years history should be embedded in the manager? Wenger has got progressively worse and the stat from the op surprised me, Wenger is only one trophy better than George Graham.
He is often lauded for his penny pinching, but you've had exclusivity to a massive pot of riches and haven't moved away from much of the opposition...

Hope you've got the elixir to eternal life ready for the boss then Major_G.

As I said Graham only has one less trophy in about 5 years less so Grahams records superior if anything.
I think Wenger is living on his past reputation and the style of football he bought to Arsenal. Judged on his merits over the past 6 years and where we are today, excluding the Champions League spot, he is replaceable and I agree with the Op. It just took his misjudgments of the past years to catch up with him and now IMO unless he changes style dramatically and he does not seem that kind of person, he is living out his exit.
Major_G_Gooner,
Arsenal FC is the sum of ALL it's part's, fan's, player's, staff, history, etc. To make a claim that "Wenger = Arsenal" ignores all
of the other part's that make the club what it is. The claim that Wenger is the club is laughable, sad, and sort of insulting all at the same time !
And, lol, anyone that thinks Wenger is Arsenal IMO is a plastic
"The claim that Wenger is the club is laughable, sad, and sort of insulting all at the same time !"
------------------
It's not often I get to say this, but I totally agree with that GOONER.
Yes, one less trophy, however Wenger won the Premier league more, than FA cup more, Community shield more blah blah blah, as well as building a £300 million stadium.
Well done Graham, you won more League Cups and you killed 30,000 people a week due to boredom, great.
Graham was a fantastic manager, but I already can't stand watching England due to boredom, I don't want that to happen to Arsenal too.
And while I understand that Wenger should not stay here for ever, please understand that, I do not think he should go yet. In a couple of years, maybe, but now it could damage us even more. Wengers style of play and, say, Ancelotti's is diffrent. It would take a long time to change into it, and I feel right now it may cause more problems.
And I do have the elixir
"Well done Graham, you won more League Cups and you killed 30,000 people a week due to boredom, great."
------------------
I used to love watching the side Graham put together in the late 80s. I'm sure most Gooners feel the same way too.
George's style of play only pales in comparision to Arsene's in hindsight... something none of us have either now, or back then.
Yeah the 1-0 to the Arsenal was a bit unfair for the GG era, we had a very good side then which was also exciting to watch. For whatever Wenger has done, I don't think it eclipses the style of the team and GG that went to Anfield that night and against all odds won the League. The playes those days had real hear and commitment along with ability.
