OK, over the last 10, 5, 3, 2 years - Take your pick.

Are City the most successful side over the last 10 years?

I say 10 years because it ties in with the Shiek buying City.

“City have been the most successful club since Abu Dhabi started injecting £1.3bn into them”

They haven’t;

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/talksport.com/football/399607/englands-most-successful-clubs-decade-ranked/amp/

City are up to 8 trophies with this seasons league cup.

So, 10 years - No; 8 years -Yes.

I won't lose too much sleep over that.

City have been the most successful club since Abu Dhabi started injecting £1.3bn into them, is the short answer to the arbitrary dates being suggested. Of course, with success comes higher revenue meaning a club is able to start reinvesting its own money. City’s owners were happy to take the hit on FFP in order to get them to this level. Nothing any of you can say alters the fact the club has been artificially inflated by the billions of an oil sheikh to get to where it is, it’s really that simple.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

There was one season when their wages alone exceeded their total revenue.

They now appear to be self sufficient but they have everything handed to them by their owner to put them into that position.

I like the way they have invested in their set up and the club is now built for the future and the investment has put them on the map.

It annoys me how the media/pundits etc get so frothy at the mouth about them without giving any context. They have basically played fantasy football with an unlimited budget with their players and manager. They should be winning everything. Any team that has DeBruyne Sane and Jesus on the bench in a UCL QF clearly has a massive advantage.

I see Spurs and Liverpool's trophy-less progress as a much greater achievement than what City have done.

I agree, it's a miracle that Liverpool are still in this division considering their frugal spending.

Seen a stat yesterday don’t know if it’s definitely true but apparently across ourselves, Spurs and Ajax, Southampton will have 9 ex players in the CL semifinals

What valid point has he proved exactly?

Have City benefited from having a rich owner?

Of course we have, we don't deny it, fans paid for a banner inside the stadium thanking Sheikh Mansour.

Do City now make a modest profit?

Yes.

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/manchester-city-break-500-million-barrier-revenues-report-104m-profit-after-premier-league-title-a8536256.html

Do City receive a massive cash injection from their owners every season?

No, if you disagree, prove me wrong.

Have City been the most successful club over the last 8 years?

Yes, if you disagree, prove me wrong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But none of this would have happened without the huge amounts put in by your owner. Not one ounce of your success is down to Man City, it’s down to the person who bought you.

It doesn’t bother me, I’m just stating the obvious.

OP
The media are only going to side with City because the Sheikh is a very powerful entity and the consortium behind city have got FA, UeFa and FIFA backing as they have contributed hugely financially with all theses corrupt institutions.
Why is Qatar hosting the most prestigious footballing tournament in the world? Why City isn’t being punished for breaching the fair play rules?
Football has become a game for the elite who are corrupt and are not football people.

You might as well not count these clubs history and trophies because they only won them by virtue of outbuying every other club and buying the best.

Rant over

Happy Easter all

Virtually all of which is self generated, as in really self generated, not City’s version of it 👍

Saints have had a lot of quality players pass through their club the last 5 or 6 years. They also produced Gareth Bale and unearthed Pochettino. Shame that they get plundered for their assets in such a way that they’ve regressed from regular 7th/8th to where they are now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The football food chain mate I can see Ajax being plundered in the summer similar to Monaco a few years back

Talking about Saints, I was going to do an article on them as they have been supplying two of the three what I would consider the best sides in the league, i.e. Liverpool and Tottenham with players and a manager/

And now their current manager, Ralph Hasenhüttl, has been very impressive in the little time he has been in charge.

Amazing club for unearthing few gems!

You need to delve into the background of City's backers. It is complex and involves multiple organisations, all there to abstract the higher levels.

Why would a middle east construction company sponsor Manchester City? You may well ask.

Because despite warnings, Man City’s Abu Dhabi owners pushed ahead with a £7m-a-year regional sponsorship contract.

Consider beIN Sport and Uefa, and the sponsorship arrangements within the deals going on.

beIn Sport is part of Al Jazeera which is based in Qatar and pays billions of dollars to Uefa to broadcast the Champions League games. beIN Sport is also owned by the same organisation as… PSG.

Such is the depth of beIN Sport’s sponsorship of Uefa that if it pulled out of the deal with Uefa (because of adverse publicity) that would leave Uefa on the edge of bankruptcy.

So here we have beIN and PSG owned by Qatari royal family, while Manchester City are owned by the Abu Dhabi royal family – and the involvement of the notorious Arabtec.

The Arabtec story goes way back – there was a BBC report in 2009 about how awful it was in relation to the basic human rights of its workforce and the allegations have continued since. It is said that the Manchester City director of communications wrote, “The gap between what we do and what Arabtec do is unbridgeable.”

But there has been a deal with Arabtec for years as a way of getting more middle east money into Manchester City, yet it has deliberately been kept out of the UK press. The story has been out there and has been covered in the Russian media, suggesting that the UK media has been deliberately complicit in keeping the story out of the news.

Even the photo of the Man City chief executive and the execs of Arabtec signing the deal was not published in the UK although it was available on line.

Yes media conspiracy
