zero point in having laca and auba start if our midfield gets dominated

big day for Özil today

At least with Xhaka you have passing range and the occasional goal.
Palace are potentially there for the taking but picking that team just doesn't help

The most sensible think pete has ever said stunned tbh.
Ozil is going to pull off a 9/10 performance. Relax.

Guendouzi and Elneny have to look and play the ball forward more than they did against Everton. Did they even play a single forward pass in that game?
I hope Jenkinson will be up for the battle too.
Serial refusing to let go of banter era players
I feel a win is crucial today
Really hope Gwen distribute the ball better and dont dwell to long on it as he usually does.
Ozil's due a good performance today, should be an easy win with our home form
Like Wenger, Emery have a lot of faith in the players.
Emery uses the whole squad.

Emery's team selections wind me up. I believe Emery is a better trainer than Wenger, but he's lacking somewhat in conviction and consistent principles in how he has to set up and from game to game, you simply can't predict what he'll surprise (unpleasantly) you with.

it's his first season i think it will improve next season
It's a team that raises a lot of eyebrows, but to be fair to Emery, with the fixture list and the injuries we have, there are going to be occasions where he's going to have to make some questionable team selections.
I'm not saying I agree with his selection entirely, but his hand is forced to done degree trying to balance all the games we've had (and still have) to play recently.
And for all of Jenkinson's flaws, when he did used to play regularly for us, he was very quick and a good one on one defender, so whilst I'm not exactly confident with the prospect of him vs Zaha, hopefully Emery has seen signs in training that he can step up today.
I don't know if Emery selected this team with an eye on mid-week fixtures, but as far as I'm concerned, the first priority should be deploying all your best resources for your "easier" games. He seems to be gambling that this is a game we can stroll through with the "real" test to come on Wednesday. But weirdly enough, Palace are better away from home than they are at home and can cause us trouble today if we're not on our game.
I think it’s a good thing we can’t predict our starting 11s to be honest.
More and more I am convinced we loaned Suarez to keep the fans happy to be honest

Torreira missed 3 matches recently with suspension (which seemed like forever), so should be better rested than most of the team. I can't see any rational excuse for leaving him out to deploy the same midfield duo in Gwen and Elneny that was completely overwhelmed against Everton. What's the point in that?

Suarez carrying an injury
Funny thing is when Maitland-Niles was injured, we were asking why Emery wasn't playing Jenkinson. Now AMN is fit and he's playing Jenkinson. A lot of Emery's decisions are just puzzling.
Torreira also carrying a slight injury with him.
Pete thrilled with Deulofeu's brace against Huddersfield yesterday more than our win vs Napoli.
