Sorry I do apologise, 5 point lead when City beat Watford back in December 2-1.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Didn’t need to read it to know you’re wrong again. You said he promised, which is a world away from ‘believing’ you can do something. Stop making things up, you thick terwatt.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The post I quoted is almost word for word what is in that link so maybe it's you who's the thick terwatt
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope, you originally said he’d promised a title. Read back, then crawl back into your stinking hole.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Haha, what a tiiit
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I know. It must be embarrassing when not only do you quote Klopp wrongly, but don’t even know what you’ve said yourself, only a few minutes before
5 point lead when City beat Watford back in December 2-1
------------------
City having played one game more than Liverpool at that point (Liverpool playing a day later).
Which is akin to the situation when Liverpool went 10 points clear.
The OP got it wrong when he mentioned 6 points, and was also disingenuous in raising this point considering he mentioned Liverpool having a 7 point lead.
City have only ever been 2 points ahead of Liverpool this season when both clubs have played the same amount of games.

Think that’s the bone of contention though Ripleys.
Don’t think any of us would deny we were 10 points ahead, with City playing the next day. It’s the claim we’ve bottled a 10 point lead that is utter shiite that Blobby is clinging to
That’s not my bone of contention fields.
My bone of contention is saying one thing for one team (city having a 5/6 point lead) while also saying Liverpool’s lead was 7 points.
Its either 5 point lead for City compared to a 10 point lead for Liverpool, or a 2 point lead for City compared to a 7 point lead for Liverpool.

Yes we did.
How did we ‘bottle’ this 10 point lead?
VC wading in, arms whirling like two noodles stuck to a fork
I'd more say it was a 5 point lead for City and a 10 point lead for Liverpool at one stage. Back when both teams had a 5/10 point lead respectively, theoretically, we were saying it was only a 2/7 point lead because the other hadn't played the same number of games. But we were assuming they would win them games.
Ok yes it's all a bit irrelevant now because we know what the teams did to cut the gap back to what it was, but psychologically from a players perspective there is a big difference between 2 points and 5 points or 7 points and 10 points.
How did we ‘bottle’ this 10 point lead?
...
By dropping points would be my guess. But what we can see is United fans didn't have to convince ourselves you actually did have a 10 point lead.
Granted that is misleading due to City having a game in hand. But it is still a matter of fact none the less.
Slight bit of bitterness present I assume.

Agreed.
This has become an issue after the fact however.
When City cut Liverpool's lead back to 7 points after playing their game the following night, no one then was to know what would transpire.
It's only after Liverpool let that 7 point lead slip that the whole "10 points" thing even became an issue.
The OP got it wrong however, even with the benefit of hindsight. Either he was being intentionally disingenuous or he just made a mistake. Irrespective of whichever one it was, it renders the OP's article pretty much moot.
Nonetheless, the whole "bottling" thing is really just a way to have a petty dig at another club's fans. Call it a bit of banter, an intentional wind-up. And it does seem to work in that respect.

Any yet the table shows you now don't have a lead at all.
So evidence shows that you have.
Of course "bottling it" is specifically a term designed to wind people up.
People have used it against us more than once and they were right.

Fair point that he never amassed the number of points that the top 2 currently have, but I feel like if he was still managing today, I wouldn't call it a silly shout to say he couldn't do what Klopp and Guardiola have done imo.
Ok I'm not defending United, I wouldn't want them to do well because a lot of United fans I know are really, really bitter and such and yes, they do have some poor players, but I don't think Fergie would have signed the likes of Darmian, Rojo, Bailly, Fred etc.
I also put a lot of United's problems down to previous managers. Moyes was just a joke although gone too soon, LVG was under huge pressure consistently and couldn't do no right and Mourinho was too busy being Mourinho. I'm sure the grass would be greener at United if Fergie was still there, which for me plays a big part.
These players at United who play for money/fame, we know who they are, Fergie just simply would not have stood for.
