----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did wonder whether it was a free kick at the time.
Also did you notice Messi asked the ref to give a yellow card to Milner for shoulder charge.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Messi gets away with tons cause he looks like a nice innocent harmless little guy. He can be a dirty little fecker when it suits him.

I was fuming with him, wanted to smash my TV Imagine how the players felt

Four years and waiting, and a number of finals where we've come up significantly short.
Some fabulous football, the envy of many, but another barren season despite our best efforts is just not good enough.
Lessons learned.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bang spot on Questions have to be asked if this carries on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This type of thing really does make me laugh.
Not good enough?! We’ve been plenty good enough but we’re not the only team that are good enough, City and Barca are too.
City look likely to take 198 over two seasons and Barca won La Liga at a canter and have one of the greatest ever players having, even by his standards, a great season and Liverpool not beating them is “not good enough”. The sense of entitlement is ludicrous.
Personally I’ve enjoyed this season. Even if we win nothing, I’ve enjoyed the football we’ve played. I just don’t understand fans that only seem to enjoy winning trophies - football must be a pretty bleak experience most seasons.
Liverpool have had a sensational season, assuming Barca do progress to the final which looks likely now, they've just been bettered by 2 world class sides.
Ask any fan of any top 6 club at the start of the season and say you would lose to Barcelona in the CL semi finals and come within 1 point of winning the title, amassing 90+ points, I think 90% would take that without question.
It's still a good time to be at Liverpool, it's just they need tweaking in a couple of areas still. Better squad depth is required. The front 3 are terrific, but they need another good 1/2 players in that attacking area for better depth than Origi and Sturridge really. Maybe another RB to cover for TAA would be helpful as well.

“Hard to accept but our best unfortunately looks to be again not enough.”
————
In a way this makes it easier for me to accept. We haven’t bottled anything, we’re going to end up with our record points haul for the season (we already have it actually) and we made it all the way to the semis of the champions league to be undone by the best player who’s ever lived.
But all through it we played great football and won a lot of games, i can’t point to the side and say they should have done better, they’ve done as well as this side can possibly good. It’s just there’s 2 sides who are a little bit better than us.
Just one of those things.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree with this Tiddles. Had we bottled say a 4 point lead with 5 games to go I'd be worried about having a hangover that leaks into next season, but finishing 1-3 points behind this City side should give the lads the belief they can go one better next season.
We're still 1 or 2 players light which will hopefully be addressed in the summer, plus the likes of Keita and Fabinho have found their feet.

Kieta was a miss coming off and we could of done with Ox off the bench. We keep on choking at the final stages of these big comps something has to give otherwise it be another frustrating season. The 2 drop points against Everton and man u cost us when both games were there for the taking but oh well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’d forgotten about AOC, but see he wasn’t on the bench. That needs explaining, he could have been another option to push the game up a notch, even if only for 30 mins.
Don’t think it’s the players but we are going to need to spend heavily in all areas to keep pace with City, it seems to be more our mental attitude. Perhaps it’s the lack of experience of winning anything recently, something most of the players and Klopp suffer from.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thats a fair point in terms of the mental attitude thats something we have to change or we will always be nearly men.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don’t tell me, Klopp out? Your over reactions are ridiculous. We may have a poor record in finals under Klopp, but this will be the first semi we’ve lost under him. So to suggest we have a problem in the ‘later stages’ is completely wrong.
As for the league, to point to a few games during the season and use it as a stick to beat the team with us pathetic. Dropped points are part and parcel of any season, City have lost games they usually only have to turn up for to win. Difference is, they then went on an unprecedented winning run, that no team in history would have been able to keep up with.
We’ve had an amazing season, and would have had the league wrapped up long ago in virtually every other season. So stop whining and just accept that we’ve come up against a better team than us. Doesn’t mean we’ve done anything wrong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where did I say Klopp out? Well we have done cause,we lost the last few finals haven't we or am i missing something. Yes dropped points are part and parcel of football of course but we had a great chance to win so yes I will look back at games unless you just wanna go through the circles of us losing finals or finishing 2nd. It cant be an amazing season if we haven't won anything can it just making out facts but if you want to think everything is great and he cant do wrong then thats your choice.
We had/have a good chance to win the league, not a great chance, due to the fact City have won 12 games in a row. We’ve won seven in a row, so have pretty much done all we can. Your criticism of us probably finishing second is senseless.
we were 7 points clear possibly 10 at the end of the year. Yes City done well but your going like we haven't had a chance. Yes we done much as we can but there was stil key games we could of got more thats all. The team or Klopp is not blameless but of course we progressed massively this season but we need to start winning trophies again.

Every single team will look back and highlight games where they shouldn’t have dropped points. We’ve gained more points than any other team that have won the PL previously, apart from City. If you can’t see that as massive progress then there’s something clearly wrong with you.
Plus this 7 point lead with 5 months of the season left to play, and City away the next game, is nothing.
Both us and City were never going to open up a huge lead.
