Let's not over react. Emery has made appalling decisions in games, but he has also made game winning decisions. He cannot do anything about the brain farts that are mustafi and xhaka...both those need to go amongst others. At the beginning, I was expecting a 5/6 place finish and it was a bonus to be looking at top 4. Granted, we have underperformed similar to when Leicester won the league...all close rivals have been poor and yet we have been poorer.
I say back Emery during the transfer window and give him a chance to coach players of his choosing. If he fails to make top 4 then, I'd say yup..time to look elsewhere.

We often bottled under wenger.
He’s done pretty well to have got us this close. But I agree it’s bad that we threw it away so poorly . So he has questions to answer about that. But the squad is so poor, and full of dumb idiots. It’s hard to manage a team if 2/3 of your players make the wrong decisions constantly. They just need selling and replaced.
At the start of the season. We’d have said getting this close to top 4 and potentially a Europa final while improving our points tally is a decent start for a new manager with a poor squad without much backing, and especially following on from such a long term manager. It’s a decent enough first attempt to deserve support for next season. Could have easily been much worse. I won’t fully judge him until end of next season (or unless we’re like 10th in January).
The club have to back him though in the summer. No manager we could have got would be happy with this squad. It needs improving badly

Firstkt we will finish in 6th in the end. Our we really going to use a horrific last season under Wenger as a benchmark for Emery this drain?
Is that were the exosxtions are with the fans?
When we hired him, pretty much everyone said being closer to top 4 and going far in Europa would be a good season to start with.
Liverpool where in a similar mess when they hired Klopp. He finished 8th first season. You have to have some sort of patience when you hire a new manager. Lots of fans are acting as if he’s got us finishing mid table, and out of Europa at group stage.
The club now has to do there part. We won’t be going anywhere without selling and buying different and better players. No manager would be happy with this squad. Even if we got top 4 we’d have to buy better players. Finishing in top 4 wouldn’t change the fact of how badly this squad needs improving
If you look at it harshly then Emery has made little mark on the club. We've improved our performance and results against other top teams, but results and performance against lower league has declined.
He needs to get rid of the cancer in the side (Xhaka, Mustafi, Monreal, etc) and get in better quality players but questions have to be asked on his style. I don't know which direction we are going and I'm sick of approaching games like Palace and Brighton as though we are a small team.
1 more season, more of his own players then I'll judge him.
