Totally agree Melton.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Infantile behaviour by all concerned, the singers, those who videoed and the faux outrage since, perhaps to deflect from the bus intimidation. Fans will be fans but professionals should think a bit more.

Pep and Klopp showed class throughout the run in, others would do well to follow their example.

Noel hasn’t penned anything decent for 24 years. Fortunately I don’t think we’re the only club to have a chant that has another team in it!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was more the we’ve been chanting about you all season.

I said on the other thread. It’s as of certain City fans are trying to create as intense a rivalry we have with United in the space of two seasons.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some probably are trying to fill the void of United being carp. I like it for the cheeky dig about Sterling winning the double given the dogs abuse he still gets from a lot of your lot. Anyway. I’m taking a 606 sabbatical until the fa Cup now 🤘

I personally find the whole thing infantile.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So do I, and I think the whole thing too. Shouldn’t have been sung, shouldn’t have been videod, shouldn’t have been posted, shouldn’t have been misconstrued into something more than it was, shouldn’t have been condoned.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
^^ This...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Melton as always the voice of reason. Couldn't have summed it up better myself.

Funniest thing to come out of all this is certain City fans justification of well is fans have been singing it all season.

Seriously lads, get Noel to pen some chants that don’t involve other clubs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

To be fair, all you do is sing about us when you play Chelsea.

All our songs are other teams are about Tottenham, we have not penned with one dedicated song about you.

I’m not that comfortable about the Salah getting injured line

No problem with the rest considering the context

The media's favourite didn't win it? Yes because of course the English media wanted the English team to win it, when has it never been like that? Would you believe all the Spanish media wanted Real Madrid to win it as well? Thick.

It's just a lack of professionalism and respect from the Man City players. Sums up why people don't like them.

Nothing has changed from my perspective. That's the players, it comes down to them.

It's obviously still disrespectful who sings stuff like this, but you always get a set of low-life people at any club, so it's not as big an issue. But it's come from the players who represent the club, represent so may different countries etc. If this was any other profession, they'd be sacked with no further questioning.

I'm getting really tired of this.

We don't need city fans or anybody else telling us what the Victims line is about thanks, and for professional footballers to sing it, is quite frankly disgusting.

posted on 16/5/19

Actually I will correct myself. It is disrespectful for anybody to do it, players or fans alike. Nobody should sing about anything like that, whether it is directed at anyone specific or any event is irrelevant, it shouldn't be sang. But I think the last people you'd expect it to come from are the players because they represent the club and as I said above, they also represent their countries at the highest level.

Amazing that some people don't like all things Liverpool, it is not what the media, tabloid and Sky want you to believe

posted on 16/5/19

Liverpool have a long history of fan violence, I don’t think this sort of chant would be sung about any other PL club

posted on 16/5/19

They still going on about it.

Worry about ffp boys not lfc. We have a champions league to prepare for.

posted on 16/5/19

I'd be upset too if my team had just won the title, but then was suddenly all over the news with bad press. Instead of explaining away the song, why not just admit it shouldn't have happened? I'm not even that annoyed by it, it is just a song, but it can upset some people and if they're professionals, they should just apologise.

Goalposts haven't moved ffs. That's always been the issue for me, the fact it's the players that are singing it.

Or attacking team buses, I don't like the song, whoever sang it, it is plain wrong but the class shows when you attack opposition team buses.
