We’ll take him if you like?

...... one step forwards, one step back. I really don’t see a top 7 push next season without Youri - and I have no hope in that absolute flop we’ve brought in from Celtic to partner Rodgers, who has an inconsistent record with transfers at best
When will Top learn that he needs a proper DoF and a proper head of recruitment?!

I'm surprised he'd cost that much. He only cost Monaco 20 million didn't he, And he doesn't seem to have a future there. 25-30 million seems more reasonable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He doesn’t have a future at Monaco. Jardim can’t stand him. I think United will likely pay that for him. He’s absolute class
With the right people at the top of the club (DoF and head of recruitment) we would have finished top 7 this season and last. Even with Puel......

Seems odd. Why does Jardim not like him? He’s clearly a very good player..attitude?
You should buy Mason Mount from Derby, he's been excellent whenever I've seen him play, which is once.

What the fack have we done??
Leicester needed an option to buy, they were always likely to struggle to retain him if he did well without it.

Monaco wouldn’t agree to it, we tried. They wanted an auction
Yep not surprising, they’d have been silly to agree to it, but it’s what you really needed.
Could just be a negotiating stance BS. Which would only work if Monaco really want Silva.
I guess we need to wait and see. Maybe Drinkwater and Mahrez are coming back to rekindle their partnership with Vardy 🙃
Not even sure it’s that, Mersey. It looks more like someone filling column inches.
Realistically, nothing will get even close to being decided until the end of the French season and Monaco know where they are. Silva won’t go there to play second tier football next season, and who knows what would happen to Tielemans’ transfer fee and what relegation clauses (if any) he has in his current contract.
All we can do is wait for now, and of course come up plans B, C and D. We’ll be needing a new CM of some sort this summer.

Yeah possibly - but I have a feeling that Leicester just aren’t prepared to break their transfer record for him. I can’t help thinking that the previous big money flops have played a part in that

Far from it. This isn’t the daily mirror. The Tielemans negotiations have been going on for weeks and Jardim and club decided they wanted shot of Tielemans in January - makes no difference where they end up. It’s about putting him in the shop window and getting as much as they can for him. This doesn’t hang on Adrien Silva
What relegation clause would impact transfer fee on an open market?

It’s mad to suggest he would have a relegation clause. We wouldn’t be in this position if he did and it would have been plastered all over the news by his agent in January if by some mad occurrence Monaco had slapped a cheap release clause on one of their brightest talents
....that said he could go cheaply should they go down. It’s rare you see that and even rarer for a club like Monaco to have such a clause when they won the title 2 years ago
How often do you even hear of relegation clauses even being put into contracts? They are usually ones for wages if anything.
The idea that a club that had just qualified for the CL would put in a relegation clause for one of their players just doesn’t really have basis in reality.
How many clubs have started in the CL group stages and got relegated the same season?
