Hadn’t got sucked into a debate with Liverpool fans on here until now but wow it is frustrating. Like talking to a brick wall.
It is blindingly obvious to me that Liverpool’s midfield could not keep the ball, Salah was horribly off form and your usually world class fullbacks did nothing. Spurs created a handful of chances, resulting in a mixture of poor composure and good Allison saves.
On last night’s game alone I think it is fair to say Spurs were the better side. However, Liverpool fans will never, ever admit that, so probably best to leave it there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Look I have experienced games where Liverpool have been massively on top and lose to a dodgy decision or wonder strike. It hurts as you really can't understand how you lost.
But you were not spectacular last night. If you were the better team then you were the better of 2 bad performances. You shouldn't feel unjustly done when you played that bad. Same way I wouldn't if it was the other way round. If you want to win finals then either make sure you play amazingly or set up your defence well like we did.

Yeah, you made it sound like Liverpool willingly parked the bus. Not exactly Klopp’s way, is it. More likely that Spurs pinned you in and you couldn’t respond. As I said, easiest to just agree to have different views on the matter.

Sounds like you're mad we have a good defence. Only 22 conceded in the league and most clean sheets. When you play a team like that then you need to play well as they can keep it tight and Nick it with a counter attack or something like a fortunate penalty from a silly error by your player.
It's obvious what happened last night. The harsh early pen changed the complete outlook of the game. Immediately we, as favourites, had something to hold on to.
Spurs were immediately in a horrible position of having to go at us while being conscious of our ability on the break.
Then all of a sudden having the advantage handed to us so early and this made us nervous. We've been defensively resiliant in the vast majority of games this year. We retreated and were solid but very sloppy on the ball, really for 70 mins both sides were poor with the ball, we could see the win, you weren't sure how to go about scoring till that 10 or so minute spell where you had several shots but no real chances. Alisson did well and that was your chance in the game.
We then score from a corner against the run of play and that's it, won without being good.
The real difference between the two sides is mentality and experience. That told tonight.
Sissoko clothes-lines the ball, but yeah definitely not a penalty 😂

Ok fair enough.
It's down to mentality and experience though, and investment in top players. That's our 4th final under Klopp, we spent serious cash too, you can try argue the semantics of the game but ultimately it's clear a bad game was won by the better team. Youhad 10 mins whetre you were really on top but never really threatened, id say yes in the game spurs were the better side in terms of having the ball, but like i said 72 mins to have a shot on target doesn't reflect a side who is dominating.

You can control the game in more ways than just possession mate and i felt we did for the large majority of the game control it well. Sure you have possession but you didnt press us and pin us back with asking constant questions did you? it was more a case of us sitting back on an early lead playing on the counter soaking up the pressure letting you waste time passing it around in non dangerous areas of the pitch.
You had a few chances but so did we, we scored from open play not just the penalty too. I felt had the circumstances have been different you'd have seen a different attitude and approach from the Liverpool team im not buying if Spurs were 1-0 up theyd have had 65 % possession and "pinned" us in as you say.

Liverpool got lucky really that they were taking on a Spurs side, who have been dreadful since the New Year. Any of the other big hitters and sides like Ajax would surely have taken that poor Liverpool side to the cleaners.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet you were convinced Spurs were going to win. You’re a mess and an embarrassment to the many decent Spurs fans on here.
Spurs gave us back the ball everytime they came into our half for 70 mins. Then we kicked it straight back to them.
Alisson was man of the match for a reason but must say I would expect him to make those saves. We did have a couple of clear cut opportunities and Moura funny enough had them and should have done better. It reminded me of the Manu game at home where De Gea made save after save but mostly routine. We just were not clinical enough .
Van diyk and Alisson am afraid to say money well spent and without them we could have won.

We were poor but no idea how you can say the ref decided the game. Spurs were the better side but only at keeping the ball, no shot on target until the 72nd minute shows that. Even after that shot you only had 1 decent chance.
