"I still feel it was not a penalty and like we were robbed of the opportunity to have a chance last night.
However, I fully accept there were very few scenarios where we would have won last night and Liverpool are deserved winners. Your team have matured and it was a masterclass of how to protect a 1-0 lead."
These are two awful paragraphs they really are.
Going 1-0 down while still 11 v 11 does not deny anyone an opportunity to have a chance. If anything denied Spurs the chance it was the defeatist attitude. A mentally stronger team would have used that as motivation as won 3 or 4 goals to 1.
And it was not a masterclass from Liverpool at all. They played terribly for most of the game. And if they were up against a team that doesn't freeze on the big occasion Klopp would have ended up losing 3 CL finals in a row.
Fair play to both of you for getting to the final though, but the final itself was a complete anti-climax

A very poor reflection of English football.
Anyone who understands basic football tactics will tell you Liverpools mid block & pressing controlled the game last night. An intelligent plan considering we had the lead all game.
Tottenham did beat the first line of press very well and make things hard for liverpool in possession.
The penalty came from us being aggressive in the challenges and sending Mane in behind very early on. that was probably our initial plan like it was against Barcelona.......defending a lead with a mid block.....not sitting deep was probably the plan after taking the lead.
As a result tottenham couldnt counter and we tried to send our forwards in behind all fame an win corners. one of which helped us finish the game off.
Liverpools mid block is probably the beat defensive structure in the world right now.
Most if this isnt my own analysis btw i just listen to people who know what theyre on about. im well aware that there are finer details and systems in game aswell.

Analysis from one of the millions of pro Liverpool

They’re like fecking rats, I’m certain that we’re never more than 6 feet away from one.

no analysis from people/media that do accurate objective tactical analysis.....
like pressing systems, creating/restricting space & passing options. Expoliting weaknesses.
All very relevent when considering Klopp & Poch are pioneers in these areas.
The purpose of these tactics is the result.....we tend to beat you tbh and you tend to have more of the ball. we're fine with that

I wonder what they’re analysis of this will be.
Toddler Sizzle has filtered me this morning because he is an angry child who can't handle basic logic
Now as a Londoner he brings up stabbing and a tragic loss of life in a desperate attempt to score points.
He’s been banned (and rightly so) so don’t worry about it.
With the exception of him and Sandy, the rest of them are a good bunch. Some very good posters.
Admirable club with a great manager, I wish them all the best next season (unless we meet again in a final obviously)

Good riddance. A truly awful human being, and I dread to think what he did to his bedroom after getting banned
How did Liverpool win it with only 35% possession and 3 shots on target?

By letting Spurs have the ball, whilst not really letting them be particularly threatening, after getting the crucial first goal. It’s all about game management, which is something we’ve improved on dramatically this season.

Penalty or no penalty, we all know there is no way that penalty would have been given against Liverpool.

Clearly hes forgotten the exact same ref giving an even softer handball penalty against us vs roma last season.

By scoring more goals than you, you f@cking mug. We played as well as we needed to and beat your comfortably.
its too bad that there was a penalty really, ruined the game. once given the game was over tottenham didn't have a clue on how to break down liverpool.
all it did was make it a close game. if spurs had scored first we would be able to watch liverpool attack more and probably win 3 or 4 to 1.
automatic not taking this too well and sandy should maybe switch to netball.
Think there will be a lot of regret in the Spurs camp because Liverpool didn't play well at all. Spurs certainly had the majority of the ball, but they too were sloppy and were very poor in the final third. Neither team played well, but Liverpool were just better in both boxes which is the difference.
I do think it was a penalty personally. Unnatural position.
