so bored of the same old stories coming out about how we will all imminently be dying off

i remember hearing about a meteor that was meant to hit us in15-20 years, i was in year 5 i think back then and it still hasn't happened, i've just turned 30

i remember in highschool being told our resources would like run out due to the number of people on earth increasing at a n alarming rate, i just don't think that will happen in my lifetime, my kids or their kids

it's just constant fear mongering over and over again

we all die one way or the other

Hopefully the advent of hybrid AI and brain to computer interfacing comes soon. The human brain operates at around 200Hz, even the chip in your phone operates 1400000000Hz. In our lifetime we will likely have a human/AI intelligence that is more intelligent than every human who ever lived combined. It may offer solutions to our problems, but whether those solutions get the support needed are entirely different things. Trump's stance on global warming is the perfect example of self destructive policy despite very learned council and recommendations.

Solving the part of "consciousness" is a problem, which is I believe came through evolution.

It may offer solutions but who will operate them or will the human race be eradicated except for mister big.

In reality human intellectual enhancement has already started, it is easily argued the mobile phone in your hand is almost every present, albeit it interfaces to the brain via the visual cortex. It allows us amongst other things to translate any text in seconds, to establish facts that help solidify current thoughts and ideas.

Humans are already highest form of intelligent species...look what have we done to ourselves. So, it's not the intelligence we need to combat this problem.

Another prime example is William Shockley and his racist views on others...

Either completely change the economic models that govern modern life or tweak it to make being green the most rewarding option by far.
