Gordon is rapid and would be definitely investing in untapped potential. Allan is great. He's not going to turn around a sheit team but he's not far behind Bentancur imo. Only problem is he's old.

Anyway, to MK's point - what are the better options?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Jesus is better than Richarlison. For €60m I’d rather go all in for him. Slightly different type of player, but I’d rather go for Maddison than Richarlison as well.

I’m not saying I’m against the signing, just that he wouldn’t be a preferred choice and I think some of our fans are almost bigging him up in advance in order to justify it. I’m not convinced Richarlison is a particularly big step up on Bergwijn to be honest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maddison & Richarlison aren’t anything alike though. Richarlison surely will be cover for Kane & the wide players which Maddison couldn’t do.

It would be Maddison over something like Eriksen
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s why I said different type of player. But I think we’d be better spending that dough on a Maddison type than on Richarlison when we already have quality in his position(s) and not terrible options from the bench. If Richarlison was going for a song fair enough, but going balls deep financially on him doesn’t make sense to me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What options of the bench? Only lucas as we know Bergwijn wants out.

Why would we buy players who are behind what we’ve already got? We went through years of downgrades (Aurier for Walker, Sissoko for Dembele, Davies for Rose, GLC for Eriksen) and it did what exactly you would expect - downgraded us.

We have CL football, elite facilities and an elite manager. We need to act accordingly while we can. Bissouma for example would be an upgrade IMO, Allan would be a crap signing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh yeah I'm not advocating for Allan ahead of Bissouma (though I don't want us to sign him, what are we talking about him for if Richarlison is a caant?) but he's decent. You underrate him for sure. Gordon would be just as good as Lucas off the bench and with tons more potential.

Of course we want to sign better players. Jesus, Richarlison? I don't think there's much between them except Jesus is a better part of a machine. Richarlison is more likely to just do something grate on his own. Depends what you need. I think either would be decent signings and likely we'll end up with neither

Personally I like the idea of Richarlison or someone like that, that can be our Kulusevski on the left. I think Chris made the point about upright runners.. but basically less nippy little midget wingers, more proper sized blokes that still have decent pace and some tekkers.

Would still prefer terrier but we need someone who can cover for Kane and son so if Conte wants richarlison for that then sure

Wants to be a starter somewhere
Expensive but good
No
God no
Best case scenario Kane backup but not as versatile as richarlison

So we’d be selling Bergwijn and paying double for someone to sit on the bench in his place? Unless Conte is gonna move away from being the settled first 11 type and start rotating like Pep?

I can’t be arrsed to look it up, but considering he’s been a squad player for most of his Spurs career Lucas actually has decent numbers for us - I looked it up last year and he’s done alright in terms of goal involvements per game started. I’m not saying he’s the answer, he has his flaws, but I do question how much of an upgrade Richarlison is on Berg/Moura when you factor in the money being touted. We have more pressing priorities to go big on with our budget IMO.

If we do go for him he has some pluses - traits that earmark him as a Conte ‘type’, plus he’s got PL experience. Would still prefer Jesus though, if both are attainable (and the Gooners seem to think he is).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There nothing between Jesus or Richarlison ( I’d say Richarlison is a better goal scorer ) and be happy with either.

Literally don’t care who costs what anymore. I just want players who are good

Also I say our budget is big enough to go big on a CB & FW after getting in spence & Eriksen ( if we do ).

Here’s a list of attackers we been linked with

Jesus - yeah alright
Richarlison - yeah I think he'd be good for us
ASM - pointless unless there's a clause. Not fussed
Troare - not as a forward
Scamacca - not leaving Italy

Who wants who?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think it'll be someone else not on the list yet

Who are the A list attackers though? We aren’t linked with many that people seem to rate
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure but plenty of time in the window to find one.

It will probably be someone underwhelming in the hope they can come good like Kulu has. When he signed him no one was doing cart wheels.

And Martinez. Inter need to sell someone for big fee.

Diaby of Leverkusen is another player I have seen some sketchy links to as well.

De Ketelaere has been linked to AC Milan, surprised we have not been linked to him as well.

I'd take Jesus all day.

They're saying 40m to Milan, though. A couple of good seasons in the Belgian league.. yikes.

40 Euros and he is one of the youngest at 21. 14 goals and 9 assists last season. Not too shabby. 6ft 3. Worth a punt imo.

Zaha is a great shout. They love him there but surely he'd fancy a go at CL football
