If the stories are true about us offering Conte a new contract and the maniac is going to be with us for a few extra years then do we need a 'world class' defender?

The words World Class get banded about so easily it's gard to describe what exactly that means? Some people think Son is world class for example.

But anyway we just need someone who does not have a brain fart in them, competent on the ball and can defend if their life depended on it.

Getting upgrades on Sanchez, Dier and Davies should not be so difficult. They have proven to be awful.

If we persist with Conte idealy one more in Jan will do, assuming Romero is fit after the WC. Him Lenglet and the new signing would be enough.

But then there is talk of offering Eric Dier a new contract 🤣🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Good, best case he takes over Son's spot and cuts in from the left. Son can relegated to super sub.

I don't think Dier and Davies are awful. They're just not top defenders in that they have a brain fart in them are both physically and technically limited. If we're serious about being contenders for the league and CL we need defenders of that level. Koulibaly would've been a good signing, for example. Bastoni or Gvardiol.
