Enzo Fernandez could be seriously considering an early exit from #Chelsea if his situation in the team does not improve, as the level of football has been below expectations.

(@fichajesnet)

Only 7 and half years remaining on his contract..

Wtf

Hasn't he been starting every match? And who the hell is going to be able to afford him

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Saudi could buy him instead of Salah. Nothing to see here though, the source of the rumour is Merson ffs

There's presumably some sort of principle or ideal behind Chelsea's transfer strategy but I'm facked if I can work it out. Pochettino was mad to go there. You'd think he'd have learned his lesson after PSG.

Aren't Clearlake tied up with Saudi too? Or was that debunked

Boehly's worked with them before. I guess there's enough separation on the corporate level to get away with it

Don't you use the term 'rat' a lot? Oh, god! Does this mean you follow the likes of Jordan Peterson? Word of advice. Don't. He's dangerous.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't follow him. I think he is abit weird to be honest but he does have the odd good thing to say every now again when he pops up on my scroll.

Why is he dangerous to you?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think he sits in the same realm as the likes of Andrew Tate in being a warped hero for incel types, who shouldn't be encouraged to have the views they do. You're right, some of what he says challenges the status quo but so much of it is divisive and almost misogynistic. Personally I'd steer well clear.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's also a psychologist so he looks at things in a very linear way, like a scientist would. If the fundamentals of being a human being is either male or female, he stands by that rule. The problem is that his teachings can be misconstrued as transphobic which is where his followers then become more dangerous than he is. I think he has a responsibility not to encourage division but he actively supports it. That's where the problem is.

It's a bit like wikileaks. You could argue that Julian Assange releasing all that information was a victory for truth. On the other hand it was wildly irresponsible and most probably got many people killed.

The principles are the same. Peterson might be right in some instances but at what cost?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Seems like some of you have watched more than just clips. What JP and AT say about gender is correct imo.

I've seen Ben Shipiro argue with a trans person before and he made total sense as well.

Each to their own though init.

Although I will say for Chelsea, they're apparently not paying astronomical wages. That's the benefit of signing younger lads. If the wages are reasonable, another club will be able to match the contract should they choose the sell. It's only hard to get rid of a player if he can't find a contract elsewhere that matches his current one. Ndombele is a perfect example. I doubt many of those Chelsea lads are on 200k a week.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good point about the wages but in Enzo's case they will want some sort of return on the fee if they were to sell him after a year or two. But then we don't know how the deal is structured or if there is a buyout clause.

Anyway, good to see the thread divulge into other topics such as a Chelsea, JP and Tate.

Hengy will pleased.

I can kind of see how JP and BS get people onside with their views, but I am baffled by Tate and he seems to be the most popular among impressionable teenagers (and Luka)

Little observation.

Just watching the uncut YouTube video of the Burnley match and when Son went off he gave Maddison the captain armband and he ran over and put it on Romero.

So is that the pecking order then

Son > Romero > Maddison

Son > Romero > Maddison

You'd hope so considering he's just walked through the door

Obvs but then again last season Romero didn’t look bothered

I'd suggest he had every reason to look pist off tbf. People take attitudes like his and Richarlison's as negative but I don't get it. You want players who aren't happy when it's not going well.

Jordan Peterson believes that if women wear makeup at work they deserve to be s*xually harrassed

Says you can only be considered black if you are considered 100% African

Doesn’t believe in Hispanic/Latino ethnicity (iirc)

Denies climate change

And holds a whole swathe of negative opinions towards the working class

I’d steer clear personally

(Also that clip is him misremembering the monologue from a James Bond movie)

I think in general, when approaching populist speakers who seem to you to be 'entirely right' and 'saying what we're all thinking' you should probably take a moment to consider your own biases and (lack of) knowledge on the subject at hand before making any firm decisions on what to think or feel.

Basically don't be even more stupid by thinking you're clever

I appreciate this is probably a better convo for another thread.

But yes they are part of the ever present trend of public figures profiting off of hate speech and spreading it easily through social media. Then it gets lapped up as people who are discontent with life (rightly so as it cost of living gets harder etc) blame it on these generalised reasons rather than the more obvious and accurate culprits (mega-rich/media/politicians)

Agree with this. Someone mentioned Brand earlier. Where does he fit into all this? I have tried watching a few of his videos, but they go over my head. From what I gather though, isn't he just suggesting what you are (i.e mega rich, media, politicians are really in control)? Can he really be put in the same bracket as Tate and Peterson?

posted on 6/9/23

I've not followed brand at all but I think he has views about secret cults and that vaccines are bad etc

Oh yeah, I think he went all anti vax on us.
