As I said, Lo Celso for Eriksen is the bare minimum expected if that were to happen. It wouldn't make us much better as Lo Celso is an unknown quantity anyway and there is no guarantee of him contributing what Eriksen has done. You'd definitely be looking to add another player but they don't necessarily need to be another £50m signing. Ceballos + Lo Celso for example coming in for Eriksen leaving would be decent business.
But all this also depends on whether we're improving full back position(s) and another forward who can play ST.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
See, I think you are getting your hopes up mate if you think we are signing 2 attacking midfielders for Eriksen. If Eriksen goes, Lo Celso comes in as a replacement, that will be our business done mate. I think everyone knows this, but are hopeful this won’t be the case.

Ok, my question to everyone is. Would you be happy with selling Eriksen and just signing Lo Celso as a replacement and obviously NDombele ? Basically meaning we wouldn’t really be that much stronger as Lo Celso, whilst an excellent replacement is just that, a replacement. NDombele is a brilliant signing, but I’m not sure him alone is suddenly going to propel us to CL and league winning status. My point this is probably what is going to happen if we do sell Eriksen. We will probably make 2 big signings, but losing Eriksen means really it’s like only strengthening with 1 big signing. Are people happy with this ? Me personally, I feel we need a lot more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm hoping Eriksen puts pen to paper - even if it's a 2 year deal jobby. Sell him next summer. Both parties are winners.
We sign Lo Celso - gives him a year to settle and adapt.
We get Cabellos in on loan. Possibly sign him on a permanent next summer if it works out.
Sign a quality RB.
Young striker happy to sit on the bench and wait for his chance and learn from Kane. Maybe Troy?
Not asking a lot, am I?

Which would be ideal but if instead of another CM we added a quality RB and forward then it's still a great summer of transfers.

That’s what I would love to, hug my doubt that will happen mate. Let’s just see what will happen, but I bet I am right come end of the window and the vast majority of us are unhappy with our business come the start of the season.
Unless Rose is sold I would personally leave Sessegnon until next summer and bring him on a free. He isn't going to massively change our squad this season and him being injured especially doesn't help. Could be saving £20m-£25m but just waiting for a non-essential signing.
I think we will start the season with NDombele , Lo Celso - Eriksen sold. 2 excellent signings, but with Eriksen gone, it theoretically only means we have strengthened with 1. This isn’t good enough in my opinion, but I personally believe this will be it.

Still think Pogba is the key to this whole window. It will be his move that triggers all the movement... It will likely effect if /where Eriksen goes and whether we really need to go get Lo Celso, Cebellos or the midfielder from Roma. I don't think Poch views RB as priority unless we get a decent offer for Trips. I can see Rose/ Sessegnon, selling Wanyama, Janssen being a deadline day things as will Llorente coming back on a cheaper deal.
I don't think the Squad will really be that much different other than an uptick in CM come opening day

I'm not sure I agree with people saying Ndombele is only replacing Dembele.
Dembele barely ever played before he was sold because he was never fit, and even when he was fit he was a shadow of his former self. Considering how rarely he was fit and firing, he might as well not have been a Spurs player at the time.
Effectively, Spurs got rid of an asset that didn't add anything to the team (regularly, anyway) and replaced him with a younger, better model. I'd say getting Ndombele in is a huge upgrade on where Spurs were this time last year, even before Dembele was sold, considering the state Dembele was in at the time.
Appreciate the above will be controversial though, since Dembele was such a favourite. Don't get me wrong, I loved the guy. I just didn't see him as a positive contribution to the squad when he so rarely got on the pitch. Just like Lamela.

There is plenty of business left in football. Real Madrid need to sell players after their £300m spending to date - it's going to take one or two big signings to kick off a chain reaction of movement.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly, not least the whole Pogba or Eriksen choice.
I believe clubs are rightly waiting to get the right deal at the right price, and Madrid are the perfect example of a club who need to off load but are still asking high prices for players like Ceballos who have actually had little game time and yet they value at 45m.
As it comes to the end of the window it will become clearer and ultimately if they have not generated the required funds then an Eriksen deal which takes in Ceballos as part of it might be the only way they can proceed with another big purchase. They'll also be awaiting late as our position is less strong given his contract position.
I have a sneaky feeling we might do our usual and go for a late window bid on someone like Zaha. Early August, unsettle the lad with a bid (low ball), see if we can force something through
If we Lose Eriksen & Toby (following Dembele) and Replace them with Ndombele, Lo Celso we are probably slightly vs Last year in terms of strength. Hopefully a better summer break & proper pre season will help with Injuries/ strain on the squad.
If you are levy your objectives are still very simple

Given the state of Arsenal, United & Chelsea he probably fancies his chances
