If Alderweireld goes to Roma and we get Zaniolo in the deal, I’d be happy with that.
Zaniolo is incredibly talented for a 19 year old and would improve our squad.
For all great Alderweireld is, our defence was shambolic last year, something has to change, we can’t go in to a new season thinking we’re gonna be solid with the same centre back pairing.
We need someone fast in defence, having 2 slow centre backs is asking for trouble.

I think we will only sign a centre back to replace Alderweireld if Poch plans to use Foyth as a right back as I can see Dier being shifted to centre back.

Outrageous as it is, atleast United go and get their targets when they want. We take about a year to sign someone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Erm no they don’t.
What about Fernandes they’ve been after since the start?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They been after Wan Bissaka and Maguire, they got them pretty much within weeks of being seriously linked, end of story. They get things done in the market and it’s why they are such a successful club. When they target players, they don’t f** around until deadline day to get them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It took them as long to get AWB as we did to Ndombele
----------------------------------------------------------------------
United wanted Ndombele too, and Lucas before we signed him.

ACE is right. Toby had to cover for Trippier's inability to run back, and potential to gt beaten all the time.
Essential we keep Toby another season.

That will get it done and you know it. United don’t f** around for months on targets like Spurs. Pretty certain United will have Maguire wrapped up this week. I’m not saying Maguire is great or good value, but my point is when United want a player, they wrap things up very quickly, same as any big club. Spurs fumble and stumble around, so frustrating.

It’s interesting with Toby & Eriksen, their situations are almost identical. Although I love them both and don’t want them to leave, it seems other clubs are not as keen as you might’ve expected.
Toby (supposedly) had a £160k offer on the table up to 2 years ago, but refused to sign as he felt he was worth more and that a ‘bigger’ club would come in for him. This was followed by a huge bust up behind the scenes and a bad hamstring injury, meaning he missed a lot of the 17/18 season as Poch refused to play him even when fit, and the club withdrew the offer. No club came in. So he’s been on £70k/week for nearly 2 years when he could’ve been on £160k.
Eriksen was offered a similar deal, declined and has also been on £70k a week for some time when he could’ve been on more. He wants a top Spanish club, but they have other prorities and see him only as squad fodder. I think the main current difference is Eriksen, as he is 3 years younger, has a 4 year contract still on the table at Spurs.
Poch has supposedly told both players that if they remain at Spurs but don’t sign new deals then they will not be played as much next season, as he will look to integrate their replacements in (Sanchez, Foyth and Lo Celso). A bit like when he knew Walker was off and dropped him like a hot potato. Both players are back in preseason training after having had their meetings with Poch that all the players get, where he outlines how they fit into the clubs future (or not).
I’m starting to wonder whether Eriksen will be almost resigned to signing a new deal, what with Madrid being more interested in Pogba, and Barca having just spent a fortune on Griezeman. Also can’t see Toby going Roma for similar wages and no CL. More likely he’ll see out his deal (as a squad player) and leave for free next summer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ace, if Eriksen stays, not a chance Lo Celso is coming mate. Forget about that dream. Not a chance Levy is sanctioning two 55 million pound players without selling one. Like I been saying all window, let’s hold for a second before we start kissing his a**. Eriksen stays, we will be getting nobody in, especially Lo Celso.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino hopes Christian Eriksen will remain at Spurs:
“I hope he is. I think he is a great player, Christian.”
“After five years working with him, I am sure in the way that he plays, and I hope yes.”
I don't expect anything less from Pochettino, would be stupid to rule him out of being in the squad next season.
