Todays scores aren’t looking great for us
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All pretty winnable fixtures for them to be fair. Arsenal, Villa, Brighton and Liverpool all at home playing mainly bottom table opposition. Aside from the fact we are missing half our good players, we had a tougher fixture than them.
By the time we get to the Newcastle fixture it will be our u18s vs their u18s
Brighton doing us a favour

I gather Bissouma was a bit chit but are we really dropping him for Hojbjerg? Seems a depressing backwards step

He is banned for the next game

It’s over sizzle. Ange out before Christmas

I like Ange, just not sure he does tactics.
International break now, then we go again.
Chels 2- 1 up....fack me, what a week this has been so far....🤣
Knew we had kick started Chelsea’s season meanwhile ours is facking imploding. Typical.

He does his tactics and doesn’t deviate from it.
As a fan base who complained about how we’ve played the last few years we can’t now complain that we don’t like a front footed manager
Only just see that bentancur gone on international duty ffs
He best be starting vs Villa now
I mean he's been playing minutes for 3 weeks now right? Should be fully fit apart from a bit of match fitness.

Not a chance. Saturday showed just how far short of match sharpness he is. It's not just the physical ability to get on the pitch and run around without getting puffed out, it's the subtler things like getting his touch and weight of pass back, and his pitch awareness, all of which were hopeless on Saturday.
As long as his new knee holds up the other stuff will come with time but he's clearly not there yet

I didn't watch on Saturday, but I'm not convinced that you can put that down to coming back from injury.
Pitch awareness and weight of pass are the sort of things that are naturally ingrained in a player.
To me it's rubbish that a player will still be working on remembering how to do these things 3 weeks after comeback from an injury.
He just had a bad game. The only way to get the rust of is by playing anyway.
If he's forgotten his pitch awareness and weight of pass, he isn't going to remember it sitting on the bench.
I agree that playing is the only way to get that stuff back, and it was good to see Bentancur wanted the ball on Saturday as he clearly realises the same thing. You only had to see his reaction when he misplaced passes to realise how frustrated he was.
Disagree strongly with the first half of your post though. It's obviously far lower level but I've started playing again recently for the first time since uni and it's shocking how much you can lose your touch and finesse through lack of practice. Bentancur has a new knee and hasn't played a match situation for 9 months. It's not that he's lost the ability to play, he's just very out of practice
