I think we have to continue to give Biss a big chance. He was excellent until he got suspended and injured and AFCON where he apparently had Malaria, so a lot could be in play in terms of his form since returning. Bents and Mads also were poor after coming back from lengthy injuries.
In the Ange system we need 2 decent options in all these CM positions and we defo need some legs and some height.
Other than PEH, we do not need to get rid of any of the CM options because with 50+ games next season we will need the legs and the competition for places and all will get plenty of minutes.
It may surprise you but Hojbjerg had the most game involvements this season, playing in 36 games (1300 minutes). So even a fringe player like this, who you think barely got a kick, actually got on the pitch almost every game and played the equiv of 15 full games

A fully fit one yes - I’m not convinced he was at all fit at any point in the season just gone. He needs a rest, unfortunately it’s the Copa America. I worry we won’t ever get that player back now

I think they could be. The DM role is asking alot currently when both 8's and full backs are bombing forward.
Most of the goals we concede in open play are on the counter attack when Romero and VDV are on the halfway line with Biss slightly ahead. Opposition wingers have so much space to run into it's easy for them to have a free run.
If one of the fullbacks stayed with the two CB's it could thwart a counter with the aid of the DM.
We are often caught out when we have 7 outfield players in the attacking 3rd. I do think the DM is asked to cover the ground for two players which is why we are so open.
The second season with Ange will reveal alot if he makes adjustments as he has done at other clubs.

I agree with this. And actually i would say that the opposite FBs do hold back a bit more than earlier in the season.
For me its the positioning of the 6 that's so often the problem. They either need to be a bit deeper, or if they are also joining the attack they need to be well placed to press the ball when we lose it.
The Saka goal is the perfect example of poor positioning, losing the ball cheaply on the edge of their box and the 6 not being positioned well enough to press the ball, easily played around. In that goal Davies was up with play but his recovery run was good, although he was too central in recovering and left Saka too much space.
So for me the system needs tweaking more than the players need changing (although i would say we lose the ball a lot of the edge of opponents areas as they have such numbers back so we need to be more precise in that part of play and a stronger fwd who can hold the ball up/push and pull defenders around would really help).

Yeah, jury is defo still out on him, but not reason to sell IMO. Competition for places and options is essential i think.
Sell PEH, Skipp truly a squad option and HG player and have Biss, Sarr, Bents & New CM/DM all competing/rotating.

I think I'm a little colder on Onana / that type of player as the other 6 (I also think Bissouma finishing the season strong helped).
I think the 6 alternative needs to be a player who excels on the ball in the Jorginho/Wharton mould.
I don't know who that is as I don't have a wide knowledge of footballers outside of the PL these days.
