Why is it obvious we should be buying ready made first players? These types of players are already at their peak and want a huge wages. The moment they sign they let their foot off the pedal.
Carry on buying up and coming talent who want those big contracts. That's the strategy so far. No point changing it. In a a season or two we will reap the benefits.

So much BS in this post.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All because you want to sign a few over priced crocks?
Ok.

No because you make sweeping statements like
“ These types of players are already at their peak and want a huge wages. The moment they sign they let their foot off the pedal.”
Which is utter BS not realising that the same could be put to up & coming players also who go for a few grand a week to tens of thousands.

Brentford are ready to slash their asking price for Ivan Toney to less than £50m due to a lack of interest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because they know he is a one season wonder and he is on a downward trajectory
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Harsh. Thought his first season in the PL was alright, then he got 20 goals in his next season. How many English players have got to 20 goals in the last 10 years? I count just 5. Obviously he had the lengthy time out and that affected his numbers.
He will get goals and is a great pen taker. Whether I'd want him, I dunno, but £50m for a PL established striker under 30 is a decent price for him.

I certainly wouldn’t pay £50m for Toney… especially as he’s got one year left on his contract!
We can spend £50m on 2 better players… David & Chiesa…. Though Chiesa seems to be injury prone… but undoubted quality!
I like the idea of Toney up front for us tbh
but I think I'd be more at ease paying £40m for him
Having said that, if we sold Richarlison for £60m to Saudi, and brought in Toney for £50m, I'd be good with that
NEW: Richarlison is ready to move to Saudi Arabia with the Saudi Pro League preparing a move.
#thfc are open to selling him but would want £60M. | @HITCfootball
Historically a dodgy source but lets hope no smoke without fire. Would help solve a few issues.
#Tottenham are yet to follow up their interest in Eberechi Eze, who would cost around £70m.
@ed_aarons

Well worth it
They paid €60m each for Malcom and Otavio from Porto. Joint 2nd and 3rd on record transfer fees. Neves cost €55m.
Think the price of brick has gone up, so we should get close to what we want. Even if it's less, Devon will able to turn it into a cheeky profit for the Pigeon.
Isn’t that 10m above his release clause

Eze 15 goal contributions in 27 games last season.
Olise 16 G+A from 19 games. £50m
Brennan Johnson 15 G+A from 32 games. £47.5m
Looks like the price of brick has really gone up. £70m.
Probably fake but this would be right up Luka street
🚨🚨NEW #thfc and Aston Villa are in negotiations and a swap will soon be agreed that will see Jacob Ramsey join Spurs for a fee of £19 million + Giovani Lo Celso.
