There's a lot to like and a lot to not like; reminds me of Maguire in that regard

I think Foyth has more upside still

Foyth will be quality. Have to remember at his age he’d still be playing academy football if he was born in England.

Work on his upper body strength and he’ll be fine once he gets a bit of experience

I dont mind Sanchez I really dont, but he has a lot to do. So many times he caught on his heels, rash positioning, long balls going straight over him, dodgy passing etc. Love to see him more commanding and beef up a bit. He's rapid and a good tackler. Not bad in the air, none of our CBs are particularly good in that aspect.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You never thought that until I pointed it out to you.

Sanchez first season when I mentioned these types of things I got shot down
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a total myth. I was always one of Sanchez biggest critics on here but he formed a good partnership with Jan, who was phenomenal, that particular season.

To the contrary I remember saying about Sanchez being weak, found wanting in the air etc and been told be a few that he is actually very good in the air and strong.

Lol nope. Dunno where on earth you got the idea tbf.

Sanchez will be fine. Like any young player he's going to make mistakes, it's just they're likely to lead to a goal when you're a CB.

Don't fight guys

What do you see Foyth as in the future, a CB? He is very good as carrying the ball, as opposed to passing, which is why I reckon hes making it as a RB for now

Sandy and edbo I think did that to me, but in his first season i gave him the benefit of the doubt and probably expected a lot more last season than what we saw from him.

As Tobys biggest fan it was a sickener too see him out of the side at Sanchez expense.

Mangala only just left Man City

Remember him being an absolute machine on fifa at Porto

I think sanchez was basically the same but the issues in his game were more on display last season because of other issues with the team

I don’t think Sanchez has ever been really good imo

Does some thing good and some things bad.

Can’t believe poch hasn’t pulled him up on getting so close to strikers yet.

Signing Eriksen would be a big deal not only because he's class, but because we chose the option of rewarding a player in their prime with a juicy new contract rather than selling.

As Chronic rightly pointed out, we have to get away from the image of shipping everyone out as they near 30. It will cost us in transfer fees, but the value on the pitch of Eriksen as he hits his peak years could be huge.

I think Sanchez could be good for a team who generally don't have much possession and want their central defenders to tackle, block and get rid. However for a team (like us) who usually have the majority of the ball and have to probe for openings he looks cumbersome and awkward. He also likes a nibble at strikers often when there is little danger in the situation. This may be down to him being relatively young but he needs to develope more patience and be less impetuous.

We have become used to Rolls Royce defenders like King, Verts and Toby however Sanchez is more of a combine harvester and I'm surprised that now folk have had a couple of years to have a look at him his purchase hasn't come in for more criticism because he wasn't cheap.

I think that's an overreaction, and that Sanchez will turn out to be top class for years. Toby wasn't all that at his age.

Interesting that you use Toby as an example as the reason he didn't cut it in Madrid was that Simeone felt he was too much of a footballer for a centre half and he wanted out and out stoppers.

Ironically Sanchez is exactly that.

Sanchez gets completely bullied by strikers as well. Remember Watford away last season was an embarrassing performance.

He’s 23 and played 78 times for us. More than enough to make judgments on his good and bad faults
