I think last summer Eriksen's stock was a lot higher. This summer after a poor CL final and lacklusture/poor form towards the end of the league campaign hasnt helped his case and therefore the Spanish clubs aint interested.

Only got himself to blame really.

He said he was at time in his career he might be looking for a new challenge but also if nothing came up right he'd consider signing a new contract. So surely if Spain's where his heart is he should sign some kind of deal if hes a spurs player beyond this window.

Assuming the deal is even on the table any more. Pochettino might not take too kindly to Eriksen settling for Spurs as his fallback.

Properly pointless loan-back if so. He'd learn a lot more training and getting minutes here and there at Spurs than he would at Leeds.

Is Bielsa still at Leeds? I suppose that's a reason but I'd assumed he'd be first choice after he was loaned back.

Well hes our player and thinking financially we are losing an big asset for free next summer of not. Also he is an important player go us and poch has said hes hopeful hed sign one

They had costa on the bench who probably good enough for the premier league.

He should get a few games in cups and sub appearances.

Clarke not really benefiting either party with the loan then

Leeds have a proper thin squad tbf and working with bielsa will be good for him, he'll adjust easier to our style of play

Tbf I’m not overly sold on him. He wouldn’t get any game time for us.

Clarke was cheaper and not welsh so theres that

Get Eriksen to sign a new contract, but with a promise to sell if a big European club comes in for him next summer. I’ll be content with that, as it means we got him for this season and can plan next summer when he inevitably goes.

He would have more opportunities and a higher wage if he ran down his contract and moved as a free agent.

The other side though, if he doesn't sign a new contract he will be on £70k instead of £200k for a year and he could get injured and club lose interest in signing him, not that there have been many.

It's going to be a tough decision for him to make and how low does the release clause end considering no club has really shown interest in £60m let alone £100m.

Woah - steady on Phenom .....

The money we spent this summer and the money we didn’t spend after failed bids for Dybala and Fernandes, I expect we will spend big again next summer, providing we finish top 4 again.

And from what I understand the wage bill has still been kept down low.

I think Fernandes was the alternative to GLC so technically even though it’s a loan currently the money is budget for that move
