Replace departures, upgrade deadwood, and add competition for places all over the pitch.

Pablo Sarabia going to PSG for 18m Euro. That's very cheap for a player of his talent.

If Eriksen stays and signs, then we would do well to identify his replacement in a bout 2 or 3 years, so someone aged about 20 now to bring through slowly as his heir...a bit like i think we are seeking with Foyth who may be in a year time will be first team ready. I dont see Skipp as the future....not really sure what he does, bit like Carroll.

If there are any further delays with us making a proper move for Ndombele then I’ll started getting facked off, and also start having real doubts about our ability to compete in the market or back our manager. Here we have

- a player whom all credible sources say Poch hasn’t identified as his no1 transfer target
- a player who has effectively been replaced by his club
- a player who has indicated he would be open to joining us
- a president at Lyon who has said the player has asked to leave and the door is open

We haven’t signed a player in a year and a half. We desperately need rebuilding in key areas. We should have funds available from avenues that I can’t be bothered to go through again.

We are at a point now where we have to stamp our authority on the transfer market and pay the going rate for a class player before someone else swoops in. Make Lyon a credible offer, make Ndombele a credible offer via his agent and get him on a jet for a medical.

I appreciate that other things can hold transfers up - Lyon stalling to het higher bids, the agent, the player being away. But, if we don’t sign him with all these chips stacked in our favour then serious questions need to be asked.

Let’s stop making excuses Ace. If we don’t get him, it’s because we haven’t offered the appropriate money Lyon want. It all points to them being willing to sell, N’Dombele name checking us when talking of potential moves, yet we still haven’t agreed a fee. Levy doing his usual penny pinching bulls** dithering, which will cost us. Seen it all before, no different to every transfer window.
