I know it was very good window without the hindsight. Probably the best other than this one. Although none of those signings were as big as Bale (he's probably the biggest signing on paper since Klinsmann), and we did lose Modric.
05/06 had Jenas, Huddlestone, Lennon, Tainio and David’s which was pretty decent considering the circumstances.
06/07 had berba, zokora, chimbonda, BAE and Steed pretty good as well

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tough to judge the Bale signing though - obviously the biggest in terms of stature/coverage etc. However we have signed so many players in recent years who were at a higher level when we signed them (Lloris, Alderweireld, Lo Celso, etc) than Bale is now
KillyP confirmed game is off

None of those players were considered world class when we got them. Bale very much is considered a world class talent by most. It may not work out for him here and time will tell but on the face of it from what we know he's capable of, that's all I'm judging it on.
you seen paul robinsons spurs XI? lol

I get what you are saying but I think our evaluations of Bale are different. I don’t think he is world class at all and while definitions vary I don’t think he would count as world class in most peoples definitions. He isn’t even the best in his position in the PL (id also argue Lloris was WC when he joined us). He is the biggest superstar to join us since Davids (arguably ever) though.

I would've liked a bit of him at spurs
Would've sorted our full bsck positions for the next 10 years or so
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not that good, doubt he'll play much at Barcelona
They've just sold Semedo... and downgraded to Aarons.
Standard Barca for the past few years

Not a huge fan of Aarons tbh. He was always behind Kwp in the youth ages just got his chance at a lower team to push a head of him.
Wouldn’t have minded if he came in as second choice behind Doherty.
Strange they would sell Semedo and replace with Aarons
Tottenham have opened talks for Milan Skriniar as possible target. He's one of Mourinho's fav options as new centre-back [no more chances for a swap deal involving Ndombele]. Price tag is the main issue: Inter have asked €60m to sell Skriniar. ⚪️ @DiMarzio @SkySport #THFC #Inter
More about #THFC.
Arkadiusz Milik has been offered on last hours as new striker after deal collapsed with AS Roma - Spurs will decide soon [Belotti *out* of the list].
Talks on with Inter to sign Skriniar but Spurs will not bid for €60m. Rubén Dias [Benfica] is another option ⚪️
Skriniar Will be okay in a low block but put him in a high line and he’s facked.
