The last I heard is that the club gave him an offer of 1 year extension on the same offer as his current one, on the advice of Conte.

I think Hugo is mulling over it as he has been approached by Nice, where he is from in France.

I think Nice may also offer some other roles once he retires so it has benefits to his family.

Why was this situation not sorted out sooner? He's been in great form for like a year now. We've had questionable second choice options like Hart and Gollini. We aren't going to do better than Lloris, he should have been signed up a while back. You can quite easily argue he's been our best, most consistent player of this season but the reward is to let his contract run down.

Hugo has been a top 5 GK in the league for a decade now, at times (pre Alison/Ederson) a top 3 GK. Of course he’s had a few dodgy spells but so have the whole team and the keeper will always suffer as a result. Since he came back from breaking his arm about 2.5 years ago he’s been really consistent. I would be gutted if we lost him, he’s still only 34 so a 2 year contract is perfectly reasonable. You also have to think about succession planning - that has to start pretty soon (heard we have an interest in Dean Henderson who wants out of Utd).

I would welcome interest in Henderson. I do think he's a very good keeper who is in an unfortunate situation at United where through little fault of his own, he isn't able to usurp De Gea. He came to my local team Shrewsbury a few years back and was outstanding, when we had our best season in a while. That together with his spell at Sheffield United shows he is or can be quality.

Don't quite know how we'd land him from United though.

I tell myself: He (Levy) has got to realise by now we need x y and z. This time he’ll do it.

Can’t remember a decent transfer window. I was excited by NDombele until I saw him play. There was also big talk about GLC before he came and I was looking forward to that one too.

Last proper excitement was Van Der Vaart ffs

Windows have improved of late. Not perfect but improved. We supported Jose and filled in a few positions that we needed to fill and with some supposed quality. We have spent a fair bit of money too with big money signings of Ndombele, GLC and Romero. The first 2 haven't really worked out but Ndombele was touted as being a great young player when we signed. Romero was voted the defender of the season in Serie A.

There are signs we have been slowly heading in the right direction and showing a little more ambition. We still need to be able to get it more right than wrong with signings, get rid of garbage sooner, and obviously do more about the striker position.

Lloris announcement is expected soon

Hope he has accepted the terms and is ready to stay and fight for 1 more year with us

Let’s hope so!

Hope it is an extra year with option for another year with Hugo, he has been as good as ever this season and we will struggle to find anybody better
