Have never been involved in fostering, but the best of luck, its a fantastic thing to bring somebody into your family, when they are in need of temporary support.
Never done it but have thought about it over the years. Think I’m probably a bit too old now but hats off to you mate - such a worthy cause
Not done it, but fair play to you pranks good thing to do.

I'm doing it on a restbite basis however I have a feeling the SS want it to be a longterm thing as the kid is 12 and my 14 year old gets on with him.
FYI we've had the kid before many times but only for a couple of nights multiple times
What’s the kids story pranks? Orphan?

No mate, got enough on with my own kids! Fair play though - a most admirable thing to do. I also hear it can be a nice little earner.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
we're doing it on an "emergency" basis.
lovely kid who gets on with my kid
we're ok financially, but believe me right now SS don't pay much
we're newbies at this and if you consider time ect it pays about 10pence an hour
but I ain't init for that anyways

nah, single parent drug addict mate.
kid is great however mum couldn't cope.
Isn't the suitability process quite rigorous?
Don't you have to go through all the police checks and stuff?
My wife's friend fosters 2 brothers, she got one then months later the second, same story as yours, parents were addicts
Good job anyway pranks, it's admirable when people take the time and effort to do stuff like this
We disagree on many things pranks but this is a very heartwarming thing to do. Huge thumbs up to you.

Real shame that, poor kid deserves better. Kudos for doing this, hopefully it will be a good kickstart to the kids life, must have been hard knocks up til now.

its a dam shame
I don’t know if anyone watches Gogglebox here, but the elderly Essex couple on there have fostered about 25 kids so far including Syrian refugees. I’ve got nothing by respect for people who give so much help to under privileged children.

I’ll echo this, there’s a lot of banter and wummery that flies back and forth but I think you’d have to be a soulless Fack wit or an utter caaant not to give you a lot of credit for doing this, really good to hear.

Never done it but was offered a job last year with the local fostering team as I work for the local authority. Absolutely live what they do and have all the time in the world for people who foster / adopt. Best wishes pranks 👌👊👍X
My youngest sister is a foster child. Been with our family since she was 7. She’s 18 now.
My mum shared her room in her teens with her best mate growing up, my nan refused to let her go back home whilst her mum had an abusive fella or something. Back when there wasnt much social care i'd imagine.
My mothers sister not officially but practically adopted a few of my cousins friends as kids too.
I did play footy as a teen with an adopted kid, never really saw her (fosterer) and he was left to fend for himself pretty much at 13/14. Pretty sure she was basically doing it for the money, renting a room out making sure he had food and water etc but thats where it ended. Still, thats gta be better than alternatives .
Good luck with it Pranks
It can be incredibly tough at times.
Do you get to choose one that can cook? Or do you just get them with random skills?
