Bad luck, agreeing a deal for January pending a passed medical seems like the best outcome for all.

iirc we hadn't long signed Flo so another 6mil would be a bit much?

Flo I'm sure was afterwards when it broke down. Ronald de Boer was same time

Hearing (fwiw) that we are trying to negotiate a season long loan at a modest fee with a buy clause at the end of the season if he can get through unscathed.

Seems like the sensible option for all parties.

Makes sense, hopefully it can put an end to the drama.

DR reporting both clubs trying to work on a deal so it might actually be a loan for a year with paying a fee to prove fitness.

As for hartson....never 'failed' any medical at rangers . It threw up an issue that rangers insurers wouldn't cover.

Celtic's insurers coveted it no problem

Hartson left advocaat's office, walked down the marble staircase and into his car to head to the airport.

As soon as he got in the car his phone went...answered it and it was martin O'Neill...less than ten minutes after advocaat told him rangers were out.

Martin and lawwell stitched that up...FACT

Mind Rivaldo Coetzee failed a medical. Underlying foot condition. He hasn’t played a game since 2017. I still think we’ll sign Turnbull but can’t shell out £3m if we don’t believe he’s worth the risk. Complete shambles start to finish.

Copied from somewhere else but a very good point, forgot about that boy.

I feel bad now for my comments on him when it looked like he wasn’t signing

Genuinely having a joke but didn’t think he looked the type of boy who was having fitness issues.

will be trying to get him cheaper now. damaged goods

Why? If he's crocked he's fakin crocked.
Why would any team sign a guy who's knackered, kaput, not fit for purpose.
Too bad for the lad, but he is still a'Well player.

Back when it was still prescription only, I got a couple of Via g ra under the counter from the local chemist.
A couple of girls from Manchester I had met on holiday had phoned to say they were coming up for the weekend and they were well up for it so I thought "canny disappoint the girlies, better get some Via g ra for a bit of insurance".
I had to mooch around pretending to be interested in cough sweeties & nit combs until I could get the male assistant that I knew to serve me.
I explained the situation to him & asked him how long they lasted - about 6 hours each he said but I had to take them a couple of hours before needed. So I did a quick calc & asked for 3. £30 each he charged me but told me to come back for them at half 12 when the owner was on his lunch break. So I went back later and got the tabs & all was tickety-boo for the weekend.

Monday morning I was back in the chemist looking like a wreck. I could hardly walk. The same boy was working and, pishing himself laughing, asked me how my weekend had gone. Told him I was in agony & that my kn ob was red raw - it looked like pound of stewing steak. I was sure it would never work again.
He just kept laughing even more at me and eventually through the tears asked me what I was wanting.

I asked him for a tube of Deep Heat. The laughter stopped & he just looked at me as if I was mad.

"You canny rub Deep Heat on yer kn ob" he said.

"I know" I answered, "it's for my arms. The burds never turned up"

With a Baggies fan right now. They're gutted to have him back. None of the last 4 WBA managers rated him enough to play him regular including Pulis who bought him.

Just Pulis Rogers and whoever decided he was worth 12 mill or whatever it was.

Strange he must have had something about him at some point.

About that much Duke.

There's no doubt Brendan got something out of him thst no-one else could. Baggies would love a straight swap with Harvey Barnes who they had on loan from Leicester last year.
