Kristoff Terreur on Tielemans: “If a club like Man Utd comes in where you can play European football, which is very important for continental players, they can offer him that so he might rethink. He knows that Solskjaer rates him so feels that the manager likes him.”

Dunno how you're getting away with tielemans for 40m, other clubs should be all over that

posted on 3/7/19

We should be all over Tielemans at that price ffs.

Perez at £30m is just stupid money. Great work by Newcastle on that one.

according to reports he would prefer a move to utd and is holding out for that

Telegraph were reporting a couple of weeks back that we were offered him but turned it down.

Seems a strange one if true, he looks a quality player in a position we lack at a more than reasonable price.

Been saying for months we should have signed him. He's a quality player that just happened to be at Monaco right after they sold all their best players.

Must be something up with him if there's only Leicester going for him at that price.

We need to feck leicester over and get him

Odd that Solskjaer is supposedly a fan yet United aren’t interested. Surely that’s a contradiction unless it isn’t just Ole choosing targets?

We could have other targets of course. However Tielmanns for £40m is an absolute steal imo.

We've lost Fellaini and Herrera in midfield and are yet to replace either of them.

Tielemans is said to be keen on a potential United switch, but Leicester are in pole position because they’re actively trying to make the deal happen. We’d want to get our move on soon if we Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decides to sign the AS Monaco midfielder.

Belgian football expert Kristoff Terreur told Sky Sports that Tielemans would prefer a move to United if an offer is tabled by the 20-times champions of England.

Terreur adds that Solskjaer is an admirer to the equation, saying: “If a club like Man Utd comes in where you can play European football, which is always very important for continental players, they can offer him that so he might rethink. He knows that Solskjaer rates him so he feels that the manager likes him.”

That all seems a bit vague and made up, who is Terreur anyway?

I'd say the contract details are probably the hold up,
Lump sum add ons sell on fee then silvra being part of the deal or not,

Personally I'd like silvra to stay would be good as a sub to replace any of the midfield if injured or if they need to come off for any reason,. Rogers hasn't seen him, hopefully in pre season theyll have a chat,

I concur with everyone here. Tielemens is a young, talented player, who has shown he can perform in the PL and plays in a position that we desperately need to strengthen. He's also available at a very reasonable price. It's a no brainer. Likewise Bruno Fernandes.

It’s probably dependent on what happens with Pogba.

I'm concerned that our approach to midfield is dependent on Pogba. We need two players even if Pogba stays, and it sounds like one of those players will be Longstaff. I'm not against Longstaff, but we need some genuine quality that improves what we have, and I don't think anyone could argue Longstaff is that player right now.

If it were me I'd go and get Fernandes & Tielemens over the line early doors. If Pogba stays you've now got some genuine quality in depth. If he goes we've already replaced him. It would be classic Ed to dither on Pogba and miss out on some excellent players available for very reasonable money (by today's standards).

I actually think Perez will compliment Vardy well. He gets little service at Newcastle but he has shown glimpses of of a very good player.

£30m is just a sign of the times, too much but I think he will be shown to be a good signing.

What a coup thus will be for us if we pull this deal off.
Tielemans is absolute quality as we saw last season.
To attract a player of this ilk to us shows the ambition of our owners and manager.
This was the one transfer I wanted to happen for us this summer as looks like it may just happen. WOW!!

I agree 100% Berba. If we are too well stocked the worse case scenario would be sending some out on loan. I wonder if Matic fancies Monte Carlo?

Agreed, will do well for them under Rodgers.

We only have so many places in the squad, and only so much money to spend.

If we signed Fernandes & Tielemens, we'd be left with maybe 8 players for two positions and still lacking a quality holding midfielder.

Make no mistake, we have to shift players before bringing in the players Ole will want.
