Hiring an ex player with limited management credentials as manager, must be desperate times for Chelsea
Former club legend who “gets the club” and has Chelsea DNA
Stupid reasons to hire a novice
I give him a year and 5 months.
Interesting the 1st 3 comments are from ManU "fans". Are all three of you the same sad person?

United fan- loving the tongue in cheek jokes
What his first priority as a manager?
Keep in the premier league? That would be easy to attain.
Keep them in CL places?
Hmm, that could be trickier - specially if United get better
I like Lampard, hope he does well with some of your younger players (English ones). It's about time a manager at your club gave them a chance and with the transfer ban it's a good time to take over for Frank.
I hope he does well bar against us of course, he's a nice bloke Chelsea legend he must be buzzing.

We like to think we can learn off Yoonited!!
Not sure what you think he will achieve, his team beat us en-route to the playoff finals sure but actually, despite an influx of players from premier league teams, Derby stagnated under his stewardship.
He hasn't proved any coaching nous and it would very much surprise me if he is still at the Bridge this time next year.
Not a good footballing decision in my view should have gone with your head and not your heart.

We'll get Bielsa if it doesn't work out!
Stop crying Frank Lampard, Stop crying Frank Lampard!
I like frank lampard hope it goes well, but if doesn't we all no what fans are like these days. brats
Best manager in the country, real deal is Bielsa. Frank just a celebrity manager. You know that in your heart of hearts don't you Chelsea fans. We had a whole host of ex-players managing us in the 80's, Bremner, Gray etc never worked out. Think this is more about pandering to the crowd after a poor season by your standards.
No more a manager than Gerrard or Southgate in my view.

How many points was he clear at one point!
A real deal would have run away with the league after a start like that!
Didn't anyone tell the 'Real Deal' it was a marathon not a 100m sprint!

We've employed a few ex players with limited manergerial experience in the past, Vialli, Gullit, Hoddle, Di Matteo for examples and some won us some decent trophies. We also have hired non ex players with limited experience such as AVB.
There are no guarantees with Frank bit you won't find too many Chelsea fans with s negative view on the appointment.
Talking Jock Stein, he was right to go take the Scotland job.
Funny way to defend appointing a guy you know isn't up to the job by bringing up a manager who didn't work out for us forty odd years ago. It happens, teams make mistakes.
Look deep into your hearts guys, you know it isn't going to work out. He has one year as a manager and the team he managed finished in sixth place the same as they did the previous year (one point less) despite having a lot of Premiership talent at their disposal.
Seriously none of you can think that it will work out.
All I am saying is don't expect Chelsea to suddenly become world beaters and don't be surprised if Fat Frank's tenure doesn't last that long.

I don't think many of us do, we all hope of course. To be honest when we signed him for 11 million I thought we were robbed, I hope he continues to surprise and impress me.
Look shipmate, I'm not even expecting top six this season.
Enjoy your sprint to the top of the table by next Xmas!

My big hope for this season JFDI, his that he can fully integrate CHO, James, Mount, Abraham and one or two others this season, Castillo could be worth a try as well given our LB problems.
If we managed all those years in Division Two and kept smiling, a year or two out the top six won't hurt us!
